The award was th
presented during the awards celebration luncheon at ACHCA’s 49 Annual Convocation and Exposition in San Antonio, Texas on Tuesday, April 14, 2015. The New Assisted Living Administrator Award recognizes a member who has been a practicing administrator for five years or less, and who has demonstrated exceptional commitment and potential as a leader, innovator and motivator in assisted living and in the ACHCA. Ms. Swartzel is the Residential Care Administrator at St. Leonard, where she provides leadership to a staff of more than 100 caregivers. She was awarded a deficiency free residential care survey from the Ohio Department of Health in 2014. Ms. Swartzel has the passion, energy, and enthusiasm to be an Administrator in one of the largest Continuing Care Retirement Communities in the Midwest. She is an active member of the Ohio Chapter of ACHCA, and volunteers in the annual Alzheimer’s Association Walk in the Miami Valley, Mud Volleyball for Epilepsy Foundation and Kickball tournaments for the End to Breast Cancer Program. Her commitment to providing quality care and leadership in organizations that serve the elderly sets an excellent example for new Administrators in assisted living and makes her deserving of this honor.
