Fotonow CIC > Part-time Graduate Internship Post
Fotonow CIC > Part-time Graduate Internship Post Created in partnership with Plymouth University . Applicants must be BA(Hons) graduates from Plymouth University About Fotonow CIC Fotonow is a South West (UK) based Community Interest Company (a non-profit organisation similar to a
Charity). Fotonow creates new opportunities in photography & film and facilitates socially motivated
projects exploring visual culture across the South West of England. Fotonow was awarded the Social
Enterprise Mark in recognition of being a sustainable social enterprise, and also joined the SE100 (Social
Enterprise 100) Index. Fotonow is based in Plymouth and works regionally to stimulate new dialogues
with photography and the visual culture. The CIC has cultivated a distinctive identity through working with a broad community to support the
development of projects that encourage greater social inclusion. Whether delivering short-term
workshops in a residential home to explore memory-loss, or commissioned to undertake a longer-term
residency within a community undergoing social change during housing redevelopment, our ethos
remains to utilise photography as a catalyst for social change. Fotonow often explores the presentation of
highly visible outcomes within communities and public space. This empowers people to experience visual
culture outside of the traditional art gallery. Alongside exhibitions, the organisation nurtures paid commissions for practitioners and is committed to
generating new employment within the region. Fotonow also manage Camper Obscura which provides an
interactive visual experience via a mobile camera obscura in a VW camper van, outreaching to local and
national communities. Also the organisation has recently moved offices in Devonport to develop the
static obscura at Mount Wise. Our other activities include; development of exhibitions, publishing
projects, project and event management, archival research, curatorial projects, participatory film work
and commercially focused projects through FotoPlus Collective. Job Description
