THE WIZARD OF
ODD
a FRANKLIN PLAYERS production
WHAT THE DIRECTOR SAYS:
There’s something magical about a pantomime. For many of us it is the fiery taste
of live theatre where actors and audience
alike experience an array of colour just
like the magical rainbow in the Wizard of
Oz. Or is that ‘Odd’?
It is as vivid as the dream-like world of
a child where the many characters and
songs entertain young and old alike.
Amateur dramatics are quite something
to watch when the hustle and bustle of
people’s busy lives come to a halt to
create magic for the community. Created
purely out of selfless dedication and
enthusiasm by its cast and crew, comes a
brand new laugh -a-minute pantomime
‘The Wizard of Odd’.
You are about to join our London based
girl Dorothy Gale as she’s blown away to
the land of Odd. And no, this is definitely not a spelling mistake and it most
certainly is a very very Odd show piece
as the land of Odd offers Dorothy and
audiences alike a less than conventional
journey to Emerald City. Joined by a
Scarecrow with no brain, a Tin Man with
no heart and a cowardly lioness who
miauws more than she roars!
Will their wishes be granted by the great
and all powerful Wizard-ess of Odd or
will their plan be thwarted by the Wicked
Witch of the West, aka WWW. Produced
by the Franklin Players, this fun filled
show is bursting with song and dance for
all. In a adaptation of a play written by
Claire Demmer this pantomime is definite
great kick off to the New Year.
We hope you enjoy the show and want to
thank you... to the New Year. We hope
you enjoy the show and want to thank
you for your continued support of the
Franklin Players and the charities we aim
to support.
