As part of National Nest Box Week, come and have a go at
making your own nest box to take away and hang in your
garden.
An Introduction to Ceramic Button making – Saturday 28th February
2015 10.00am – 4.30pm £50 including materials
A new course for 2015. Under the expert tuition of
our ceramic button maker, you will design and
make your own set of buttons and have a unique
collection of buttons which can adorn any fine item
of clothing or upholstery. Bring along an old apron
& towel, cutting knife & biscuit cutters. All tuition,
clay and lunch is included in this full day course.

Hands-on Heritage Wheelwrighting - Saturday 21st March 2015
9:00am – 4:30pm £75 per person including all tuition and lunch
You can join us, as did Guy Martin in Channel 4’s ‘How
Britain Worked’ to have a real hands-on experience in
making a traditional steel-hooped hot bonded cartwheel
from scratch. You could even have a ride on his famous
Gayle Mill wooden bicycle. All tuition and lunch included.

Willow Plant Supports – Saturday 18th April 10.00am – 4.00pm £65
Enjoy an inspiring day for making garden structures,
willow edgings and plant supports. You’ll master some
simple techniques of weaving and preparing willow rods
and walk away with your own garden supports and
structures to help you get your garden in bloom! All
tuition, materials and lunch included for this spring
activity.
Hands-on Heritage Introduction to Blacksmithing – Sunday 26th April
2015 10:30am – 4:30pm £95 per person
Adrian Wood is an expert Blacksmith
well-known to enthusiasts at Gayle Mill.
His courses are always very popular
because his tuition style, a blend of
explanation and demonstration, makes
the process of hot forging and shaping
the steel seem so easy! Every one
attending this course works with their
own forge and has an opportunity to
learn how to spread, bend, taper, split,
hot punch, and thicken steel in a full
day’s workshop which will include a
much-needed hearty lunch, all materials
to take home your own hand-crafted key ring and clothes hooks.

9.00am – 5.00pm £150 per person
Come for a full day at the mill and with expert tuition learn how to use some
of the Victorian Machinery here at
the mill. You will receive one to
one guidance throughout the day
in how to turn wood on a lathe,
use a circular saw, process wood
on the planer thicknesser, operate
the bandsaw and at the end of the
day produce some stunning
bespoke items of woodwork to take
home and keep. All tuition,
materials, lunch and other
refreshments are included in this
unique experience day at t’mill.
TO BE CONFIRMED: Wire Birds – Saturday18th
July 2015 – 10.00am – 4.30pm £60 per person
Come and enjoy all the fun of making a wire bird and
owning your own specimen of poultry without the
need to feed it. Once made your wire bird can peck
around your garden or observe life inside your home.
All tuition, materials and lunch is included.
Corsages, Buttonholes & Headdresses – Saturday 1st August 2015 –
10.00am – 4.30pm £50 per person
We are delighted to introduce this new course for 2015, a
trained florist will show you how to make your own corsages,
buttonholes and headdress using the best summer flowers
available. (You can even bring your own flowers from the
garden too!) Ideal for the next wedding you attend wearing
your own floral arrangement! All tuition, materials and
lunch included in this one-off summer course!

Just in time for the festive season,
come along to our last course of the
year and learn how to make a
Christmas greenery wreath, build your
own wreath and add holly and
sparkles for display indoors or
outdoors. In the afternoon create
festive table decorations for your
Christmas table. You will be shown
how to decorate your own table display with ribbons, bows and anything that
