Youth Market Meat Goat Show
1. ELIGIBILITY: Entries are open to youth 18 or under.
2. This show is open to any breed or crossbred wether or doe.
3. Goats will be weighed by show officials on Saturday, June 6, from 8 a.m. to 11
a.m. Goats will then be divided into eight to twelve (8-12) weight classes as equal in number as
possible. (Number of Classes may vary depending on the number of entries and the show officials’
discretion.)
4. All goats must be carrying all milk teeth at time of weigh-in. Goats showing either or both of the first
pair of permanent incisors will not be eligible to show.
5. All goats must be dehorned or have horns tipped.
6. Bracing of the goats will not be permitted for this show.
7. Spike chain will not be allowed for this show (only smooth chains or collars may be used),
8. Entry Fee: $15.00 per entry, includes first bedding.
Late fee of $10 will be charged for entries postmarked after May 29, 2015.
SHOWMANSHIP
Exhibitors age (6 to 19) from the Market Meat Goat Show are eligible to participate in the Showmanship
Class. Animals exhibited in showmanship must also be entered in the Market Meat Goat weight class and must
be owned by the exhibitor.
Note; All goats in showmanship must carry their milk teeth.
SHOWMANSHIP CLASSES
Classes will be set after all entrees are in.

Goat Knowledge Contest – 10:00 – 12:00 (Quiz about 10 minutes long)
The Knowledge Test will consist of identifications or questions relating to goats.
Team Grooming Contest – 10:30 – 11:15 AM
( Team must preregister by May 29th)
Team will consist of 3 members (1 – up to 6th grade, 1 – 7th or 8th & 1 – 9th to 12th grade). Each team will draw a
goat that has been washed and dried. Teams will have 45 minutes to clip the goat and prepare for the show ring.
Youth & Adult Goat Judging Contest (3 classes) – 11:30 – 11:45 AM
One class of 4 goats will be placed by each person, Youth and Adults will be scored separately. The decision of
the Judge will be final.
Goat Costume Contest – 12:00 Noon
Costumes will be judged on creativity and originality.
Showmanship Classes – 12:30 PM
Youth classes will be set after all entries are entered. Oldest class will show first.
One Adult Showmanship class will be judged after the Youth Showmanship.
