ABOUT THE PROGRAM
As part of the Medicaid Reimbursement Program, HBS has prepared education to assist Georgia Long-Term
Care Facilities and Rehab Centers achieve financial success. The objectives of the training are to assist
Administrators, Admissions Directors, Social Workers, and Business Office staff to recognize Medicaid
eligibility concerns from the point of admission as well as streamline and update Admission and Business
Office Practices. Participants will learn to assist the residents and family members to secure Medicaid
approval in a more timely manner, in-turn improving the cash velocity for each facility.
The first half of the program begins with detailed training on basic Medicaid eligibility which can be used to
train new employees, cross-train existing staff, or refresh and update seasoned partners. All attendees will
become a skilled resource for your residents and their families, as well as your company.
The second half of the program will focus on common reasons for Medicaid denials, and how to recognize
and avoid them. Specifically, Medicaid policies related to the death and burial exclusions, Qualified Income
Trusts ("QITs"), and Incurred Medical Expenses ("IMEs). Additionally, it will outline the new policies recently
implemented regarding the retroactive Medicaid policy.
