Drive
May 2, 2015
Welcome to Glenmoor Elementary’s 2015 Casino & Auction Night! Our theme this year is the “Roaring
‘20s” which was a time in history marked by huge lifestyle changes for many. New technology was
introduced like Ford’s Model T car that suddenly allowed people to travel anywhere, anytime. The arts
thrived, and popular actors like Charlie Chaplin made movies in our very own Niles district of Fremont!
Jazz music was playing in dance halls all over the country, and people wanted to have fun and
celebrate!
In the spirit of this era, let’s have a Roaring Good time while we join together for a night of fun, and to raise
funds to support technology at Glenmoor Elementary (the 21st century kind!). Play some casino games,
take photos in the photo booth (props provided), try your luck at the Wine Pull, dance the Charleston,
and bid on silent and live auction items. In addition, raise your paddle in our “Fund a Need” auction
which will raise money for an iPad lab in the school library.
We invite you to relax with friends, and bid on some great items in support of our neighborhood school!

Auction Items
We thank our many businesses, parents, teachers, and community members who have generously
donated to the Silent and Live Auctions. We have over $35,000 in items! We have strived to describe
items correctly. Please note that all items are sold “as is”.
Food & Refreshments
Enjoy the complimentary appetizers, desserts and non-alcoholic refreshments throughout the
evening. A no-host bar will be open all evening with prices ranging between $4 - $9 and is paid
directly to the Elks Lodge via credit card or cash.
Check-in
When you check-in, you will receive a bid packet that includes an event & auction catalog, bidding
labels, bid card with your bid number (for Live & Fund-A-Need auctions), and funny money. Use only
the bid number assigned to you - this is how items you purchase become attached to your name in
our computerized system in order to pay for and receive them at the end of the evening. We accept
credit cards & PayPal payments only. Checks will not be accepted. Cash will be accepted at the
bar only. No cash payments for any other items are accepted.
Silent Auction
The Silent Auction begins at 6:30 pm. Each table is labeled White, Black, or Gold to easily identify
and correspond to closing times. At the Silent Auction tables, a bid sheet is displayed next to the
auction item. To place a bid, place your pre-printed bid label (located in your bid packet) on the
bid sheet, and write in the amount of your bid. The minimum bid and bid increments are indicated
on each bid sheet; please honor them. The last and highest bid entered before the table closes will
be the winning bid, unless the auction item lists a per person price, in that case, a specified number
of people will win. Please note that different areas of the silent auction tables close at different times
(check the schedule), so be sure you get your bids written down in time!
If your name is announced as the winner of an item, don’t worry about stopping what you’re doing
to claim it. It will be taken to the check-out area where you can conveniently pick-up all items at the
end of your evening stay.
Live Auction
The Live Auction item is a guided tour of the Tesla Factory for 6 people. Bid on it yourself, or
coordinate a group with your friends. Please note, only one person can pay for it at check-out.
Minimum bid amounts will be announced before the bidding starts for the item. Raise your bid card
to show that you want to bid at the amount stated by the auctioneer (Mr. Benevides). The highest
bid that is acknowledged by the auctioneer will be the winning bidder.
Fund-A-Need
Computers at Glenmoor School are in high demand, and students need access to more computers
to use for educational activities. This “Fund-A-Need’ will provide a full classroom set of iPads in the
library. There will be bid card calls in different increments - $500, $250, $100, $50, and $25, and you
can raise your card to contribute any of these amounts when the auctioneer states the amount.
Please consider donating to this important school need.
Payment and Receipt
Payment for all silent and live auctions items won, plus any additional funny money purchases must
be made in full at the end of your evening stay. Please do not remove items from the auction tables.
For your convenience, items will be brought to the checkout tables for you and placed in a bag with
your bid number on it. Only Credit cards and PayPal payment options will be accepted.
Wine Pull
Everyone wins at the Wine Pull! For $20, pull a cork out of a basket and win the corresponding bottle
of wine! For $30, pull one cork, get a corresponding bottle of wine, and get a raffle ticket to enter a
drawing for a magnum (a really big bottle of wine)! To obtain a cork, place your pre-printed bid
label (located in your bid packet) on the corresponding wine pull sheet. Also place a pre-printed bid
label on the bottle of wine you won. Wine will be taken to the check-out area where you can
conveniently pay for and pick-up all items at the end of your evening stay.

close of the tables, the dealers will count your chips and give you 1 raffle ticket for every $50 in chips.
Take a pre-printed bid label, place it on the raffle ticket and drop it into the jar next to the raffle item
you want to win. Winners for each item will be announced at 9:45 pm. Must be present to win. No
need to pick up your item from the table. For your convenience, it will be taken to the check-out
