Dear Pastor and Auxiliary Leader:
Blessed be the Name of the Lord, Jesus Christ! We are less than two months away from
convening for our Annual Session of the General Missionary Baptist State Convention of MS. It
will be held July 20-24, 2015, at the Downtown Marriott Hotel, 200 East Amite Street, Jackson,
Mississippi. Please make your reservations by July 5, 2015 by calling 601-969-5100 to get the
discounted rate of $99 per night.
The Cabinet Meeting will be Sunday July 19, 2015, at 7 p.m. at the Marriott Hotel. Registration
opens at 9:00 a.m. on July 20, 2015. You may pre-register by completing the enclosed
registration form, or register on site. The registration form is also located on our website at
www.gmbsc.org. We have revised the registration form to capture email addresses. Please
complete the form in its entirety to give us all of the needed contact information. Additional
details of convention and congress activities are included in this mailing.
Our Welcome Program will be Monday, July 20th at 6:00 p.m. at Thalia Mara Hall. Please
note the change of location from the Convention Center.
We will give a special tribute to Dr. David Matthews on Wednesday night during our J.H.
Jackson and David Matthews Night. Please join us as we remember his dedication to this
convention.
If there are any pastors or preachers who have passed since July 2014, please forward the names
to Angela by July 5, 2015 at [email protected] or 601-955-1132.
The Women's Auxiliary Fashion Share will be held Monday, July 20, 2015 at 1:00p.m. at
Cade Chapel M.B. Church. Tickets are $30 per person. Transportation will be provided
from the Marriott to Cade Chapel M.B. Church.
The Young Peoples Division will release its first CD during the Annual Session. Please support
this effort by purchasing CD's. Please contact Rev. Arthur Sutton at 601-720-3062 for details.
All Ushers are asked to attend the Annual Session and participate in all activities.
All churches are asked to support the Mississippi Baptist Seminary by making a $200.00
donation.
