PRE – PRIMARY HOLIDAY HOMEWORK
2015 -16
Dear Parent,
Fun time is here again!!!!! Its time to break free and bask in the warm sunshine. So, let’s dance,
play, sing and enjoy. Brighten up your day with the morning breeze, by doing exercise, helping
your mom in the kitchen, by using magic words to make everyone happy.
Hope you will have a great time with your family and friends during these holidays. Try
everything that helps you enjoy this summer & keeps you in good health as well. Make a
proper schedule to finish the activities designed for you and make them more interesting by doing
them on your own. Of course, you can ask your parents for some help.

SUMMER HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES OF

1. ENGLISH
 Learn the phonic sounds of each letter as given to you.
 Make a finger / hand puppet of a fruit/vegetable/animal/ means of transport and colour it accordingly.
Attach a string or ribbon so that the child can wear it. Learn 5 lines on it for Show and Tell activity.

 MAGIC BOX
Take an empty box . Cover label and decorate it nicely.
Things to be kept in the box:
Small flash cards of the size 4” * 4” each
a) Alphabet: -Vowels: -a e i o u with red colour
Consonants: - with black colour
Note: Add extra letters of a,e,i,o,u, as they are repeated in a word.

c) Numbers -1 to 9 ( 2 cards each) , 10, 20,30,40,50 ( 1 card each).
Allow the child to write the alphabets and numbers on his own. Use thick sheets to make flash cards
and get it laminated
2. HINDI:
 Complete the pages of Hindi worksheet folder ( 1- 30).
3.MATHS
Using the 4 shapes (circle, rectangle, square and traingle), make any composition. You can use clay,
straw, bangles, coloured / foil paper, ice cream sticks etc. For example -
3. E.V.S.- Know The World Around You
 World Environment Day is on 5th June. Make a composition on A3 size sheet on any one of the
following and learn 5 lines on it:

Save Electricity.

Be kind to animals.
Keep your environment clean and healthy.
Make an environment friendly bag / folder by using old calendar or newspaper and decorate it using
your creativity. Write your name and class & put all holidays H.W in it. Bring it on 3rd July 2015.
4.Art activities –
Make 1 bright greeting card with flowers made on it (size – 8“ x 6” using any texture or paper work).
Use your creativity to decorate it. ( You can use mirrors, sparkles or any other decorative material).

Make a composition using paper plates. For E.g. –
 Do Pg 5 -15 of Fun with Colours.
4. COMPUTERS : Practice to draw and colour basic shapes – circle, triangle, square, rectangle and
drawings like sun, smiley, tree etc. in the software ‘Paintbrush’.
5. MUSIC: Make a sound box or shaker using household items ( You can use empty matchboxes / toffee
containers etc.)
OR
Make a rattle drum (as shown here) using household items (You can use icecream sticks / straws ).
The school shall remain closed from 18th May 2015 for summer
vacations and shall reopen on 1st July 2015.
When the school reopens bring back your treasure, to go through it will be our pleasure!
