NEWS FOR ALL OF OUR H.E.A.R.T. SUPPORTERS…..A Fund Raiser is always the best way to
get the public to know about a worthy cause, and on May 16th at the Chula Vista Olympic
Training Center, and as a part of the ANNUAL FUN RUN, a group of enthusiastic girls from
the Chula Vista Learning Community Charter Middle School did just that. Together with Dr.
York the President of H.E.A.R.T., the girls set out to organize the gifts and man the booth at the
Fun Run event. At the end of the day, the girls were smiling when they announced that their
efforts had raised $400 for H.E.A.R.T'S spay/neuter program.
"The girls created an organization dedicated to help find a solution to the amount of animals on
the streets and in the shelters. We want to educate our community on why it is important that
we find loving homes for these animals and what they can do to help. We worked alongside, the
adoption. We are en doing this because we see this problem in our community and think it is
important for us to find a solution and help these animals."
The pictures show the girls at Costco and Target getting all the necessary items together for a
good fund raiser. While at Costco they even donated a gift certificate and Target donated $50.00
for the girls to contribute to H.E.A.R.T.'S endeavors. The Shelter is always the recipient of the
communities' participation, and especially from our young student population. The animals are
always the better for the work done by these volunteers.
