Important:
The warranty to the Accredited Installer as detailed in Table A is in place of the Mitsubishi Electric basic oneyear warranty and is subject to the Accredited Installer meeting the conditions to warranty set out in section
2.(a)-(d) inclusive below.
The warranty to the Accredited Installer is also conditional upon the Accredited Installer retaining its status
as such throughout the entire warranty period detailed in Table A. If at any time the Accredited Installer loses
that status for any reason (but otherwise has continued to meet the conditions to warranty set out in section
2.(a)-(d) inclusive) then for ECODAN and ECODAN SPLIT SYSTEMS only this warranty shall revert to the
terms of Mitsubishi Electric’s 3 year warranty for Standard Account Holders.
2.
Mitsubishi Electric warrants its products as referred to in Table A from the date of delivery of the products to
the Accredited Installer as follows:
The products shall:
2.1
conform to Mitsubishi Electric’s specification;
2.2
be free from defects in design, workmanship and materials.
Mitsubishi Electric’s obligations for this warranty shall be conditional upon the following:
a)
All installation and commissioning undertaken by the Accredited Installer shall comply strictly with
the Installation and Commissioning Standards as set out in the then applicable version of
Mitsubishi Electric’s MELSmart Technical Services “Installation Commissioning & Aftercare
Standards”.

c)
Any product which is installed and commissioned at one site must remain at that site in order to
qualify for this warranty.
d)
Special condition for domestic installations only (Ecodan heat pump unit <20kW):
Mitsubishi Electric provides a Mitsubishi Electric homeowner guarantee registration card (including
the terms and conditions for the Mitsubishi Electric commercial guarantee to the end user for
retention by the end user) with every Ecodan heat pump unit. The Accredited Installer must
provide that homeowner guarantee registration card to the homeowner end user forthwith upon
completion of installation and commissioning. The Accredited Installer must give all reasonable
support to the end user for entry of the relevant system and product data required for completion of
that card.
The homeowner guarantee card does not affect any statutory rights which an end user may have
against the Accredited Installer in connection with the sale of goods and/or supply of services.
The Accredited Installer must explain that the registration card is free post and should be returned
to Mitsubishi Electric. In the unlikely event of failure of the Ecodan heat pump or other system
equipment supplied by Mitsubishi Electric, the return of this card will ensure that the homeowner’s
warranty claim is hassle-free.
Please Note:
If the homeowner does not complete and return a Mitsubishi Electric homeowner guarantee
card for registration within three months of the commissioning date, the product will only be
covered under Mitsubishi Electric’s commercial guarantee to the homeowner for 12 months. A
Mitsubishi Electric homeowner guarantee card must be completed for each Ecodan unit.
Should any of the above conditions (a) - (d) inclusive not be complied with, the Mitsubishi
Electric warranty set out in Table A warranty shall not apply. In such case, the products shall be
subject to the Mitsubishi Electric “basic” one-year warranty only, based upon date of delivery to
the Accredited Installer.

has been modified by the Accredited Installer or any third party without Mitsubishi Electric’s prior written
approval, or has been improperly applied, stored, used, maintained or repaired so as to materially affect
the product or parts.
This guarantee excludes defects or failures caused by accident, mis-application, mis-use, alteration,
neglect, loss of use of the equipment or consequential loss of any nature. Expendable parts, such as
fuses, contactors that are regularly replaced due to normal use are excluded from this warranty.
Mitsubishi Electric’s obligation excludes any normal wear and tear to the product.
Mitsubishi Electric shall make final determination of warranty eligibility. Mitsubishi Electric reserves the
right to conduct inspections at site during and/or after installation to ensure compliance to the then
applicable version of Mitsubishi Electric’s MELSmart Technical Services “Installation Commissioning &
Aftercare Standards” and to assess any trends in product failures. Mitsubishi Electric may carry out
monthly reviews of warranty claims by the Accredited Installer and any persistent or repetitive defects or
failures may be investigated by Mitsubishi Electric.

applications (please also refer to Schedule A):

regulations and codes of practice in force at the time.
The unit has not been modified in any way. It has not been misused, tampered with or subjected to
neglect.
The system is fed from the public mains water supply. It has only been used for the storage of potable
water.
The cylinder unit has not been subject to frost damage and the unit has been serviced annually. Please
note that maintenance checklists for servicing may be requested to prove that the unit has been
serviced annually and that the benchmark log book has been filled in after each annual service.
2.3
In the event of a product warranty claim being rejected or is invalid for any reason, a fixed fee of 250.00
GBP excluding Value Added Tax will be charged to cover Mitsubishi Electric’s costs of inspection,
handling and shipping the returned item.
2.4
This warranty covers all non-expendable parts and a set allowance as a contribution to labour costs
(see Schedule A) associated with our products only.

that item.

between Mitsubishi Electric and the Accredited Installer.

under this warranty unless all pipes have been closed and sealed. All costs associated with a detailed
inspection of a returned compressor will be borne by Mitsubishi Electric, unless it is established by
Mitsubishi Electric the failure is not due to faulty components but due to adverse conditions that are
outside Mitsubishi Electric’s control, in which case costs will be passed onto the Accredited Installer.
2.10
Where the Accredited Installer conducts the repair or replacement of items covered by this Warranty,
replacement parts will be supplied in accordance with Mitsubishi Electric’s Partner Programme spare
parts issue process: provided that Mitsubishi Electric has verified that the spare part is required for an
in-warranty Ecodan product and the Accredited Installer has completed the action required for Mitsubishi

part for inspection. Mitsubishi Electric also reserve the right to make site visits to inspect items and the

standard warranty claim process (replacement parts supplied on a chargeable basis pending
Mitsubishi Electric’s assessment of the validity of a completed standard warranty claim form, WCF001
(Rev 5), in the format required by Mitsubishi Electric.
Where the Accredited Installer claims a product is faulty on initial start-up, referred to as “dead on
commissioning”, Mitsubishi Electric’s MELSmart Technical Services Department must be informed and
issue authorisation before any repair or replacement is made. Failure to follow this procedure will
invalidate a warranty claim for products faulty on initial start-up.
