
AG – send a runner to the foods room to pick up your tomatoes.

Broom Cutting – all students who will be cutting broom this week are reminded to wear long sleeved
shirts, long pants, and to bring gloves. This includes the grade 8 Outdoor Ed and all Science 10 students.

Track & Field – track practice today after school. Austin Long and Miles Gray need to see Mr. Nijhoff
today.

Cakes Bakers Needed – we are still looking for cake bakers for the Cakes for Nepal fundraiser. If you’d
like to make a cake to auction off, just let Ms. Colborne know that you’re interested (room #105).

Comox Valley Art Gallery – Do you enjoy the arts or aspire to be an artist? Would you like to network
with all sorts of community leaders? Are you interested in adding some volunteer work to your resume? The
CV Art Gallery is hosting a large discussion night on June 4, and they need five student volunteers to use
iPads to record photos and comments and survey results, and then share them live on social media. If you’re
interested, please talk to Ms. Colborne in room #105 ASAP.
WORK EXPERIENCE

More Fun Fair Volunteers are needed for Aspen Park Elementary on May 29, from 4:00pm to 9:00pm.
Please sign up in the WEX office.

BC Shellfish & Seafood Festival – needs volunteers on June 20. Please see WEX for more information.

Are you interested in helping with coaching 6 and 7 year olds playing T-ball at Highland? Please go to the
WEX office for more information.

If you are in grade 9, 10, or 11, and are interested in gaining 4 grade 12 credits over the summer (either with
your paid job or with volunteer work), get more information in the WEX office.
GRADS

$125 grad fees are due by this Friday, May 15.

UVIC Admissions Advisor - will be here on Wednesday to meet with all students who have been accepted
to UVIC next year. There will be a group meeting in the Counselling Centre from 12:00pm-12:45pm.
Following that, from 12:45pm to 3:30pm, you can book in for an individual meeting to go over your
registration process. Please go to the Counselling Centre to sign up for your 15 minutes time slot.

NIC Advisor – will be here on Tuesday, May 19, from 9:00am to 3:30pm, to complete NIC timetables for
registration which starts on May 25. This is very important for all students attending NIC next year, except
for those entering the trades. This will ensure students get the courses they want/need and will have less of a
chance of being waitlisted. Please sign up in the Counselling Centre.

Grad Car Cruise – you must sign up with Mr. McKillican ASAP! Then you must attend a meeting at lunch
on Wednesday in the MP room to select your ride.

Minuet – at 8:00am on Wednesday.

Grad Transitions – please check the list on the WEX office window to see if you have completed your
grad transitions. THEY ARE DUE!!!

Guest List for After Grad Celebration – You must have your guest registered by this Friday or you won’t
be able to have one. Please see Tanya in the main office.
