McKenna returns to the sea with a pattern series that evokes the charming tongue twister:
She sell seashells by the seashore. Here is an art quilt that encourages quilters to capture
memories of a seaside vacation or other special family occasion by the water.
The nine 12” blocks present whimsical scenes inspired by the beauty of sealife and the serenity of the
coastal environs. McKenna designed each block so that each tells a story of its own. The blocks can be
stretched over canvas-covered box frames to create modern quilt art.
A quilter may create a full quilt with the addition of sashing, an outer border and binding, using the
suggested fabrics handpicked by McKenna. Appliqués of starfish and shells accent a corner of the
outer border. The full quilt measures 59 1/2” X 54” upon completion.

For easy ordering, ask for the sales book showing kit yardage for each of the blocks and the completed quilt. Selected Style #s are
available in half-bolts (7- to 8-yard pieces).

fusible-appliqué and quilting technique that lets students create one block that they can stretch on a canvas frame as a keepsake.
