underway and, as always, we
look forward to seeing each
student’s educational growth
during the portfolio meetings.
We are amazed at the
diversity in our students’
learning plans in terms of what
they are learning – and how
they choose to present it!

If your son or daughter attends
class, and will be away due to
illness or vacation, please call
the office at 604-597-8353 to
let us know. (i.e. do not send
texts or emails.) Thank you.
Term 3
Term 3 kicks off immediately
following Spring Break with field
trips to the Delta Museum (Gr K7) on March 31st and the CTV
Weather Station (Gr 4-7) on
April 2nd. Weekly classes will
commence as of April 7th. We
have something for everyone in
Term 3 with field trips or
activities such as:
canoeing,
dance
week,
author
visits,
Campbell Valley Nature House,
Carousel Theatre, Soaring Eagle
Nature School, Vancouver Landfill
and more!
Spending Deadline
In order to ensure Home Quest is
able to pay our vendors by the end
of our financial year, all HQ
families
must
complete
their
spending by May
15, 2015. Any
purchases billed
to Home Quest
after these dates
will
NOT
be
reimbursed. Please remember that
in addition to the $600 per
student, each family may claim a
maximum of $350 for internet
costs.
Receipts are required.
Please note that funds cannot be
rolled into the next year.
Updates, Reminders (& other things you might want to know!)
Home Quest is hosting its annual OPEN HOUSE on May 7th @ 7:00 pm.
Please feel free to come and say hello and bring along any friends, family or
neighbours who are thinking of homeschooling their children. The Open
House will take place in Room 101 at Pinewood Elementary, 11777 Pinewood
Drive, North Delta. We look forward to seeing you there!
Home Quest Part II? Home Quest is exploring the concept of starting up a second
location in Delta’s south end. This concept is in the exploratory stage only as there
are numerous factors that need to be considered before determining if it is viable.
To this end, we are holding an Open House at English Bluff Elementary, 402 English
Bluff Road, Tsawwassen, on Thursday, April 16th @ 7:00 pm (in the library).
On Wednesday, April 1st, from 10:00 – 12:00, all HQ students are invited to
attend our first annual “Portfolio Sharing Fair”. Please bring in samples of the
work you have done at home or in the community (e-samples, paper, projects,
etc.) to share with your fellow Home Questers.
Once again the cold and flu season is upon us and we’d like to remind parents to
please keep your child at home if he/she is sick. By doing so you will help prevent
others from catching the illness.
FYI, the public health nurse from Fraser Health will be at Home Quest on Tuesday
April 13 and Wednesday, April 14th to do vision and hearing screening for all our
Kindergartners.
On your mark, get set, GO … to your calendars and pencil in Wednesday, May 6th
for the District Track Meet and Thursday, May 14th for the Regional Track
Meet. Every year in April we teach all our Grade 4-7 students about track &
field events and if they wish they can compete with other Delta schools.
Just a reminder that Home Quest will be closed from March 16 - 27 for Spring
Break. We hope you have a safe and happy break whether you choose to travel
abroad or enjoy a “staycation” here in Beautiful B.C.! Term 3 classes begin the
week of April 7th and run for eight weeks.
