RECREATIONAL PROMOTION COMMITTEE
G reeting s and w elcome to the Sp ring and Summer 2015
L eisure G uid e.
With the introduction of a new team around the council table
comes a renewed energy within the community. We are very
proud and exci ted that Huntsville is host to several national and
international events this season, such as, the TO RO N TO 2015
Pan Am Games Torch Relay in Ju ne, Ironman Muskoka in late
August as well as the 2015 N ational Women’ s U nder 18 Hockey
Championship in N ovember. We continue to be committed
to our phenomenal legacy of sports tourism but also hope to enhance our efforts
towards arts and cultural tourism.
As a new member of Huntsville’ s Town Council and Chairperson of the Cultural
and Recreational Promotion Committee, I am thrilled to share with you some of the
new programs we have to offer such as Canoe Instruction for Youth and Adult, Youth
Dodgeball and Adult Beginner Tennis.
As you would exp ect we have a myriad of programs for residents of all ages and
skill levels, so I encourage you to take part in a program within these pages that
interests you or perhaps make this the year you try something completely new.
