HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE BOARD OF DIRECTOR’S MINTUES— JANUARY 2015
A Board meeting was held on February 23rd, 2015.
We had Steve Weiss, Senior VP-Global Membership,
Marketing & Business Development with us from IMA
Global.
Current Board members were asked to continue to serve
for 2015-2016 year, and to recruit new members & leaders.
Financials & Minutes that were complete were reviewed and
approved by the Board.
We are still in need of sponsors to assist with Student night,
both donations to pay for student dinners, and for
companies to have a booth at our meeting.
LinkedIn—please visit, post, and comment often. Let’s get
(as of writing this) 165 members in our Group– keep it going!
With attendance not where we would like it to be we engaged
Steve for advice on what he has seen working with local
Chapters and Global. In his short stay in Milwaukee he
became aware of several places that would be ‘hip’ for a Social
like the Iron Horse, and recommended we give a Social
another try. He also let us know the trends for IMA in
general, and for many professional org’s in the USA. IMA
membership is holding, where large organizations like the
AICPA are experiences declining membership. With Steve’s
knowledge & advise we will continue to try new events and
locations and not be discouraged as membership for many has
been lower in recent years.
Minutes will be posted to the website as they are approved.

In today’s changing environment business
professionals are wearing more and more hats across
their organizations. Social Media and Marketing are
increasingly becoming that next hat as they continue
to be the next big thing. Come out to Alverno

and take home valuable resources on the basics of
Marketing and Social Media.
This will be a 4 credit CPE event for only $40 per
attendee!
See our website for full details and to RSVP and/or
contribute.
Join the IMA & CFMA at Sprecher Brewing Co. to
learn about the changes with Revenue Recognition.
Mr. Mark Hogan, an Illinois CPA, whose experience
ranges from public accounting (Ernst & Young) to
Controller & Treasurer at Nicor National, to teaching
will guide us thru the recent changes surrounding
Revenue Recognition.
This will be a 1.5 credit CPE event, and the Charity of

SHOUTOUTS!
Shout-out to Stone Fire Pizza for providing a private
party room and plenty of food at the buffet for our
February meeting.
Combine all that food with some amazing advice from
Steve Weiss and it was quite a night!
A special thanks to Steve, Senior VP-Global Membership,
Marketing & Business Development from Global for
joining us at Stone Fire last month!
While in town, Steve also made a corporate visit to
Ogden & Co. Real Estate, where he met with the
accounting staff and discussed IMA and the CMA.
Steve also did a presentation to the UW-M Beta Alpha
Psi group. We extended an invitation to them to attend
our student night next month at Delafield BrewHaus.
