XtremIO snapshots enable local protection from logical data corruption. Snapshots can
be created at any interval, offering a fine RPO (Recovery Point Objective) as short as a
few seconds apart. XtremIO snapshots enable immediate RTO (Recovery Time
Objective) and support all XtremIO workloads. XtremIO Local Protection leverages
XtremIO snapshots and benefits from data reduction saving on capacity and metadata

REPLICATION OF VMWARE VIRTUALIZED
WORKLOADS
XtremIO replication, using a hypervisor-based, software only data protection solution,
enables protection for VMware VMs (Virtual Machines). This solution can be used to
protect VMs on XtremIO at the hypervisor level, providing asynchronous or
synchronous, local or remote replication with Continuous Data Protection for recovery
to any point in time and for any virtualized workload on the XtremIO array.
Consequently, this simplifies operational recovery and disaster recovery with built-in
orchestration and automation capabilities, accessible via VMware vCenter. VMware
administrators of XtremIO virtualized workload can manage the lifecycle of VMs
directly from the vSphere Web Client GUI and perform test, failover and failback to
any point in time at the VM granular level.

unplanned downtime scenarios, and even in the event of a complete data center site
failure, by allowing non-disruptive data mobility. In addition, it enables clustering
technologies that assume a single storage instance, to function across arrays that are
located in different data centers.

REPLICATION
XtremIO enables an Active-Active multisite infrastructure with continuous data
replication to a third remote site. Comprehensive data protection continues even
under the complete failure of the Metro region side. Protection of the third remote site
is enabled using remote replication; it provides any PiT (Point in Time) recovery for
operational and disaster outages.
