Mettle Events Race Registration Form

RACE COURSE: The rolling 5K course will take runners on a picturesque journey through the woodland trails of this
spectacular 208 acre riverside park. You will pass scenic overlooks of the historic Pagan River, open area spaces, dog
park, kayak/canoe launch, fishing pier and the historic Windsor Castle manor house. We will corral runners into solo
runners, runners with dogs, and walkers with or without dogs. All dogs must be on a short (max 6 feet), non-re-tractable
leash. The event will be timed using the ChronoTrack Bib Tag.
PARKING/DIRECTIONS: All activities will be at Windsor Castle Park located at 310 Jericho Road near the Historic
Downtown of Smithfield, Virginia -- just miles from Virginia Beach and Williamsburg in Coastal Virginia.
REGISTRATION: The entry fee for the 5k is $30.00 prior to April 18, 2015, $35 prior to May 9 and $40 for day of the

registrations to Isle of Wight County Humane Society P.O. Box 273 Smithfield, VA 23431. Please make all checks
payable to IoW Humane Society. Entry Fee for the Kid’s (11 and under) 1 Mile Fun Run is $10 ahead of time or $15 day
of the race.

PACKET PICK UP: Packet pick up will be Saturday morning 8:00 AM till 8:45 AM.
START TIMES: The 5K run starts at 9:00 AM and the Kid’s Fun Run starts at 10:30 AM.
FESTIVITIES AFTERWARDS: Plan to stay for the PawFest festivities afterwards – we will have music, food, games,
dog events, demos, vendors, etc. – Fun for the whole family!

I understand that I am running a road race that is a potentially dangerous activity and poses certain serious health risks. I represent that I am
medically able and properly trained to participate in this event. I have read this waiver and release, and also fully understand and agree to its terms. I,
acting for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, now and forever, waive, release, defend, save and hold harmless, the Isle of Wight County
Humane Society, its volunteers, representatives, and agents, Mettle Events, race officials, volunteers, all sponsors and their representatives and
successors, from and against, any and all claims and liabilities, whether based on personal injury, death or monetary loss, which may arise out of my
participation in this event. I assume all risks associated with running in this event including falls, contact with other participants (including dogs and
leashes), the effects of the weather from heat and humidity, the traffic, condition of the roadways and trails, and such other risks known and appreciated
by me. In addition to the foregoing, I hereby grant the right for all of the foregoing to use any photographs, motion pictures recording devices, or any
other record of this event for legitimate purposes. I further understand that this event is a road race conducted under the rules of the USATF, is not
intended for skates, roller blades, bikes. I agree to abide by USATF rules and any other applicable rules, laws, or guidelines.
If running with a dog, I represent that the dog is up to date on all required vaccines including rabies, properly trained and capable of participation, and
will be leashed and under my control at all times. Female dogs in heat and puppies under six months of age are not allowed to participate.
