WSQ Respond to Fire Incident in Workplace Target Audience: The job role(s)/ occupations that this unit would be relevant to may include: • Company Emergency Response Teams (CERT) from commercial, industrial and workplaces who are the first responders for incidents in their respective premises • Persons who want to be recognised as a competent person applying emergency response skills during an emergency incident in workplaces classified as Public and industrial buildings without or store below the exemption quantity of petroleum and flammable materials Course Outline: • Legislations & regulations and organisational requirements on fire safety • Types of workplaces • Emergency response plan • Company Emergency Response Team (CERT) • Potential fire hazard scenarios and Injury • The assessment of the situation and recognizing hazards and additional problems • Usage of fire safety and protection systems Trainer to Trainee Ratio: 1:20 Course Fee (incl. These skills will allow learners to handle a fire incident in a cool and calm manner, and execute steps to extinguish the fire. The fire incident should be small and be simple to contain. In addition, learners will also learn the proper way to handle a fire extinguisher, and also learn about several precautions to take for fire hazards. This course will provide the CERT in the Public and Industrial premises (without or store below the exemption quantity of petroleum and flammable material) with the skills and knowledge required to effectively respond to fire incidents. Being competent in this course will enable the CERT to meet the requirements under the National CERT Standard. It is a customized 1 day course without Breathing Apparatus (BA) training and firefighting with fire hoses. Certification: A Statement of Attainment (SOA) will be awarded to successful participants.
