Located on the south bank of the river
Liffey, Lucan is a cosy yet bustling village
situated just forty minutes from Dublin
city centre. Lucan’s name derives from
the Gaelic word “Leamhcán”, meaning
“Place of the Elm”. Surrounded by
beautiful Irish countryside and lush
woodland parks, Lucan boasts a wide
range of local amenities, including
kayaking on the Liffey and playing a
round of golf on one of the many courses

Our highly reputable General English Full-Time programme consistently
develops and improves your four basic core skills; Reading, Writing, Speaking
and Listening. This 15 hour programme equips you with the communication
skills to get a better job or progress your study goal through English. Our
small class sizes mean you get a more personal English Language experience
with the teacher to help develop those skills in the best way to suit you. We
constantly evaluate your progress so you can see a real difference throughout
your time at the school.

Intensive English

Courses
On top of our general English class, you can partake in our intensive English
which provides an additional 5 hours a week English tuition. This programme
is suitable for students who require a more intensive course of study. This
is ideal for those who want to get the most English tuition they can in a
short period of time or want a top up before exams.
The extra 5 hours are available for you to improve a certain aspect of the
English Language which you want to concentrate on with the teacher to
fully develop that skill.

Part Time Evening English
Our Part-Time Evening General English course offers the same learning
practices as the full time course, whilst giving the student flexibility of
learning English at a time that suits them. Spread over 2 evenings, this
course is suitable for Au Pairs or as part of a Work + Study scheme. You can
also sit the Cambridge Exam as part of you learning.
This is a less intensive study programme with a big emphasis on class
participation and social aspect.

IELTS Preparatory
Summary: IELTS is a globally recognised English Language qualification
for students who wish to continue further study in an English Speaking
Institution. Each University will have its own set band score you need to
achieve to attend the course.
Here at the school, we specialise in 25 hours Full-Time IELTS preparatory
course in academic and general modules that will help you towards gaining
those scores you need. Our experienced teachers pride themselves on
delivering expert tuition with guidance and progression to achieve your level
requirements. This is suitable for Pre-Masters and Undergraduate students.

Staying in an Irish home is a very valuable part of the
learning process, immersing the student in the English
language and providing a useful insight into the Irish
way of life. Students live as one of the family within the
home and gain first-hand experience of Irish culture. Our
host families are warm and welcoming.
A key part of our ethos is the belief that speaking
practice is key to improvement; as such, we encourage
each family to engage our students in authentic
conversational English each day.
Each of our host families is hand-picked and accredited
by our host family co-ordinators in order to provide the
best possible service to our students.
• All rates are half-board: breakfast and evening
meals during the week and at the weekend.
• Most of our host families live within walking
access of the school.
• A regular, easy-to-use bus service runs through
Lucan into Dublin.
Accommodation is also available at nearby hotels and
guestrooms if you prefer.
Terms & Conditions
Package Fees do not include: Private insurance, bank charges or airport transfers, for groups of 10 or less.
Visas: Non-EU nationals should contact us as soon as possible so that we can advise you on making your Visa
application and provide all necessary documentation.
Medical Insurance: Students are advised to take out private medical and travel insurance. All EU nationals
should also bring a European Health Insur-ance Card, which covers public medical care. Parents/Guardians will
be liable for any medical expenses incurred including hospital charges .
Cancellation: No refunds can be made 4 weeks before a course has started.
