Welcome to the 70 year of the Jenkintown Newcomers Club. The Jenkintown Newcomers Club brings
Jenkintown residents together for social and civic activities. Any Jenkintown resident can join the club,
whether new to the town or just new to the club. This year we have planned events that were popular in
the past, as well as some new events that we hope you will enjoy.
Each year's success is built around the time and efforts put in by the members who volunteer to
coordinate and organize the events by joining the committees. We would like members with five or fewer
years of membership join at least one committee. It is a great way to meet people! However, any
member is welcome and encouraged to be on a committee.
We are currently seeking committee chairs or volunteers and host houses for the various events to take
place in 2012-2013 as shown on the registration form. We are also currently seeking a Vice President for
this year, 2012-2013. Please let us know if you are interested and have any questions about the position.
In addition, we are always open to receiving new ideas for events or information regarding new
neighbors. Please feel free to contact us by e-mail. Furthermore, we encourage all to pass this flyer out to
anyone new to Jenkintown or unfamiliar with the Jenkintown Newcomers Club.

Jenkintown Newcomers Club
Not just for newcomers!
The Jenkintown Newcomers Club has been active for over 60 years, bringing Jenkintown residents together for
social and civic activities. Any Jenkintown resident can join the club, whether new to the town or just new to the
club. Most club events are for women, although some events include spouses, significant others and children.
PARTICIPATION
All new members and those with five or fewer years of membership are requested to join at least one committee.
Longstanding members are encouraged to join a committee as well. It is a great way to meet new people.
Please pick one of the following committees:

Welcoming Committee, year round (Reach out to new neiglibors; organize small social events for new Jenkintown residents.)
Children's Halloween Crafts, October 2012 (Prepare crafts and run table at the Rec Boards Halloween Event.)
Host the Holiday Tea at my house, December 2012.
Holiday Tea, December 2012 (Organize this year's location: lielp prepare tea, set-up. and clean-up).
Cooking Night, January 2013 (Organize this year's location, date and menu.)
Cultural Excursion (Includes spouse or significant other), February 2013 (Organize this year's location, date and activity.)
Craft Night, March 2013 (Organize this year's location, date and activity.)
Spring Plant Swap, May 2013 (Organize this year's location and date.)
Spring Dinner, June 2013 (Organize this year's location, date and menu.)
Annual Progressive Dinner: May, 2013 - Date, Theme and Location to be announced.

Dues are collected annually in September or when you initially join. Please mail or drop off this form and a
