Registering on the Keowee Anglers Board
The first screen you will see when accessing the Keowee Anglers’ Bulletin Board allows you to
either register or login if you are already registered. The screen should appear as follows:
Figure 1: Keowee Anglers’ Bulletin Board Initial Screen
This is the only screen a “visitor” to the Bulletin Board will see. It contains a single forum asking
users to either register or login. All other posts on the board are visible only to registered
members of the Keowee Anglers Club after they login.
The first step in using the board is to register as a user. Click the registration link located in the
upper right of the board’s main screen.
Figure 2: Registration Link
Note: There is an area below the forum text that says “Login – Register”.
Figure 3: Login Area
This is a bit confusing in that it is intended for user login not registration.
After clicking the Register link, the terms and conditions of registering will be displayed. You
must accept them to proceed. After accepting the terms and conditions you will see a screen
where you will fill out your registration information. The following shows the Registration Page.

Enter a username of your choice, your e-mail address and your desired password. You can also
select your time zone and language (note: British English is the only Language option).
To confirm your registration you need to answer the security question at the bottom of the
screen: “Who’s buried in Grant’s tomb?” The correct answer has been emailed to club
members as a method for preventing non-member access to the bulletin board.
After answering the question correctly, you should then receive a confirmation screen showing
that your registration was successful and you may proceed to login to the bulletin board.

Posting to the Keowee Anglers’ Bulletin Board
Posting questions, messages or comments is the primary purpose of this bulletin board. The
board has a tiered structure composed of Categories, Forums and Topics. Categories group
together a set of related Forums … e.g. Welcome, Rules, Site Information is a category. It
contains four forums. Forums describe a group of related Topics. On the main screen you will
see several other categories and forums that are available … for example General Information
and Species Discussions are additional categories. The Species Discussions category contains
two forums … Spotted Bass and Largemouth Bass. (Note: more forums will be added as needed)
Forums may or may not contain information posted by our members. There are two types of
posts you can make … a topic or a reply. A topic can be any comment, question or message you
wish to post for other club members to view. Any member can then post a reply to that topic. If
you click on the name of a forum you will see all the topics posted to that forum. For
exampleclicking on the Want Ads forum shows you a topic labeled Boat / Motor for Sale
(Note:this post is just an example ). If you click on the name of the topic you will see all the replies to this
topic.
Figure 9. Replies to a posted topic
To post a new topic click on the name of the appropriate forum. A screen should appear showing
you the topics (posts) for that forum. It also contains two “New Topic” buttons. You can select
either button which will take you to the Post a New Topic screen.
Figure 10. Post a New Topic Screen
Enter a descriptive name for your topic (post) and then add the content of your topic in the large
text box provided. Click the submit button to complete your posting. You should then receive a
confirmation screen that your post was submitted successfully.
Note: Your post will not be available for other club members to view until after the bulletin
board monitor has approved the post. This is to prevent inappropriate material from being posted.
After your post is approved others (as well as yourself) will be able to reply.
At the bottom of the post screen are several optional check boxes that are available. Checking the
Notify me when a reply is posted box will cause the system to send a notification to your email
address indicating that a reply to your post has been submitted.
To reply to a post select a forum and you should see all the topics associated with that forum. To
reply to a specific topic select the name of the topic and a screen containing the topic detail will
appear. The screen also contains a “Post Reply” button. Click this button and you should see the
“Post a Reply” screen … similar to the “Post a New Topic” screen. Add your reply and click the
“Submit” button to post your reply. Once again you should see the confirmation screen saying
that your post must be approved by the moderator before it is visible. You can have more than
one reply to a specific topic. Simply select the topic and follow the above process to add your
reply.
For examples of a posted topic and replies select the Want Ads forum and then the “Boat / Motor
For Sale” topic. You should see the details of the topic and the associated replies.
A special forum exists for members to request additional forums be added to this bulletin board
… “Request Additional Forum”. Submit a topic here to request that a new forum be added to the
bulletin board.
