Workshop I
(stage choreography for choral singers)

Content:
International soloist Alexander Teutscher (AT) from the Leipzig Opera will be working with
participating choirs on a basic choreography for choral singers. Please bring comfortable
clothing and sneakers. For this workshop no further preparation is necessary.
Workshop II
(rehearsing a new adaption of the festival’s theme song “Fröhlich sein und singen”)
Date: Friday, 08.05.2015, Stage, Concert Hall Ulrichskirche, 13.30 p.m. (duration: approx. 90
min.)

Content:
Renowned choral conductor and Jury member Lothar Henning (Magdeburg) will be working
with participating choirs on a new adaption of the festival’s theme song “Fröhlich sein und
singen” by Prof. Jens Marggraf (original composition: Horst Irrgang). This song will be
performed together with all choirs at the beginning of the festival’s major concerts as well as
at the open air concert “Singende klingende Meile”.
Participating choirs are asked to come prepared and have the song memorized if possible.
Sheet music will be sent to the conductors in advance.

Short Vita Alexander Teutscher
The Austrian-born Alexander Teutscher completed his dance training
at the prestigious Ballet Centre Hamburg under John Neumeier and at
the State Ballet School Berlin. His first engagement led him to the
Aalto Ballet Theatre Essen, in 2002 Vladimir Malakhov called him to
the Berlin State Opera “Unter den Linden”. Further stations of his
career were, among others, the Stuttgart Ballet, the Royal Swedish
Ballet and an engagement in Montreal for Lalala Human Steps. Tours
led Teutscher among others to France, Australia, Japan, Korea, China,
Thailand and Singapore.
Currently, Alexander Teutscher dances as a soloist at the Leipzig
Opera.
Short Vita Lothar Hennig
Lothar Hennig majored in “Choral Directing” and “Singing” at the
renowned Academy of Music “Franz Liszt” at Weimar. Since his
graduation he has been working as a choral director for numerous
german choirs including the” Radio Youth Choir Wernigerrode”
(assistant professor), the “Magdeburger Kammerchor” and the
“Vokalkreis des Telemann- Konservatoriums Magdeburg”, which he
founded in 1995. With this ensemble he won several prizes at
international festivals.
Since 2008 Lothar Hennig is Jury President of the International
Children’s Choir Festival “Georg Friedrich Händel” at
Halle/Germany.
