R eporter’ s C orner
Portals
By Ruth Frank
In out journey through life we pass through many
portals. These doors are not like the doors? Flash
Gordon? opened and saw an angry? Emperor Ming
The Merciless? waiting with his fierce army. They
are also not like the doors in a popular game show,
where when you open one door you might find a
shiny new car, or a piece of coal.
When I was a child and I passed from one grade
to the next, I had a bittersweet feeling. While I was
anxious to grow and learn, I felt that I was leaving a
comfortable place and going into uncharted waters.
Now I am in a place just like all my fiends and am
living by myself. I have found many kind people who
have talked to me and included me. Also the JCC has
been a place of comfort.
Time
By Edith Kutcher
Time
Does not stand still
Does not ring a bell
Does not yell
Only time it tells
Time is a wasting when it's not used well
Plan ahead
So time will be well spent
Nothing left to regret
As it speds.

Think Before You Register
When registering for lunch, please keep in
mind when you know you are not going to be
here. We have had many instances where trips,
outside meetings and other out of the building
happenings occur and participants in the
lunch program forget that it will prevent them
from eating lunch at the Klein JCC. Please
think before you register.
Lunchroom Reminders:
• If you come late to lunch and have a
reservation, we are not permitted to give you a
ticket. All participants with reservations must
come by to pick up their ticket by 11:30am.*
*We recommend picking up your ticket when you
first come in before venturing to morning activities.
• Wait list tickets are not given out until
11:40am & the list arrives.
