Nancy G. Brinker promised her dying sister, Susan G.
Komen, she would do everything in her power to end
breast cancer forever. In 1982, that promise became
Susan G. Komen and launched the global breast cancer
movement. Today, Komen is the world’s largest
grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and
activists fighting to save lives, empower people, ensure
quality care for all and energize science to find the cures.
Thanks to events like the Komen Race for the Cure®, we
have invested over $2.4 billion to fulfill our promise,
becoming the
largest source of nonprofit funds
dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world.

As a Komen Tidewater sponsor, you and
your company or organization can make a
difference in the lives of wives, mothers,
daughters, aunts, sisters, grandmothers,
friends and even men - both in Hampton
Roads and across the nation.
Since 1999, Komen Tidewater has raised
over $4.6 million from the Komen Race
and other Affiliate activities. Seventy-five
percent of the net proceeds raised stay
right here in our service area which
includes 22 cities and counties in
Southeastern Virginia. Funds are set aside
to provide breast health educational
materials and programs to save lives, as
well as, providing funding for local area
nonprofit organizations that provide
breast screening, diagnostics and support
services to under-served/un-insured
women (and men) in Hampton Roads.
Twenty-five percent of the net proceeds
go to The Komen Award and Research
Grant Program. No local money goes
toward national administrative and
operating expenses.

evening to enjoy being with old friends, meeting new ones, and helping our
Susan G. Komen Tidewater move our mission forward - to end breast cancer forever.
This evening will host a live band, drinks and hor d’oeuvres and a silent auction filled with wonderful,
enticing items that will open up hearts and wallets making this evening a night of memories.

from $1,000 to $15,000, allow you full
participation in all aspects of Pink-O de Mayo. As

newsletter, posters, and pre-event advertising.
With sponsorship and your participation at
Pink-O de Mayo, you will have the opportunity to
interact one-on-one with all of our guests. We
are expecting over 350 guests.

COMPANY PARTICIPATION
Complimentary Pink-O de Mayo Tickets
** Social Media Linking includes: postings on Komen Tidewater’s Facebook and Twitter pages, with tags to the company/organization’s website. The number of
postings and tags will be discussed and negotiated between the sponsor and the Event Committee.
Inclusion in editorial and advertising dependent upon media sponsor negotiations. Sponsorship fees will be invoiced upon executed contract and
the entire sponsorship fee must be paid 30 days prior to the event. Inclusion in Pink-O de Mayo advertising will include Sponsors with executed
contracts at the time of the print deadline. New Sponsors to the event will be asked to pay 50% of their sponsorship prior to the inclusion of event
advertising.
