Today’s Inclusion Activity included members introducing themselves and then sharing their leadership
perspective based upon a photo or piece of children’s artwork. The 1/13/16 Agenda and 11/18/15
Meeting Notes were approved as stated.

III. Target Groups – Quality and Gaps
Groups assigned a note taker and time keeper. Groups reviewed Notes from the October Shared Agenda
and discussed the following questions:
1. What progress has been made on the actions of the focused Activity(ies)? Based on
progress made, what are next steps? Will have an opportunity to share the next steps with the
entire group.
2. Is there a champion doing this work who should be contacted and/or invited to GSC meetings?
Target Groups shared some next action steps with large group.

IV. Spotlight - Children’s Health Access Program (CHAP)
CHAP is a program leading a collaborative effort to create a coordinated, integrated system
of early childhood support services that are voluntary, accessible, culturally competent, and
universal. Kristen Donnelly, Hub Coordinator, shared information about Ingham CHAP and the
timeline for implementation. The presentation PowerPoint can be found at http://

General Updates

The Willow Tree Center Baby Fair is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., April 16,
2016, at the Lansing Center. Networking opportunities are planned from 9:00 – 10:00
a.m. Sponsorship/funding is currently being sought to eliminate attendance barriers
for families. It was suggested to contact LCC regarding providing bus transportation
for families to attend the event (i.e., pickup at Maplewood Shelter, etc.)
ICHD has received a grant from Children’s Trust Fund to continue a parent educator
position.
ICHD is currently in the process of renovating and has moved some office spaces to the
former Blue Care Network Building located at 2316 S. Cedar Street, Lansing.
The Women’s Expo is scheduled for February 5 – 7, 2016, at the Lansing Center. The
Network for Healthy Kids will have a booth to help educate people on vaccinations and
immunizations. Contact Barbara Ball-McClure for more information or to sign up for a
shift to staff the booth.
The “Eaton County 1000 Books Before Kindergarten” program is underway. This
program focuses on vocabulary building, language, and helps prepare children for
school and life success.
The next GSC Meeting is scheduled for February 10, 2016,
from 1:00 – 3:00 pm at Grace United Methodist Church.
