Description
Elements like ornaments, windows, or doors exist multiple times in one building. Moreover, these
elements resemble high similarities across different buildings that belong to the same architecture
style. Therefore, recognizing such elements can provide essential information about a certain architecture style and moreover can be beneficial for image-based reconstruction purposes which has
become a very hot topic recently. The purpose of this project is to use a local self-similarity descriptor
[1] to detect similar elements accross images of different buildings. This idea can be utilized for
building a database of structural elements of a certain architecture style.
Prerequisites
Students should have experience in C++ programming and an interest in computer graphics. Previous knowledge in computer graphics and computer vision is recommended.
Remarks
This project can be done as a Master’s semester project. For further information please contact
