Hunting birds

was clear just how important it is to
keep up to date, and how the market
place can impact on your investment.
Even changes in our lifestyle can make
a significant difference to the value of
assets. For example, in the antiques
arena brown furniture seems a lot less
appealing these days. Although good
news for those thinking of downsizing
as big statement furniture still holds its
value as do the smaller pieces that fit into
more modern room sizes.
We have some wonderful guests to look
forward to welcoming in April with a visit
by fabulous hunting birds to Lincombe
Manor’s lawn on April 18 as part of our
spring BBQ.

falconers in the UK and she has created a
centre at Ipplepen near Newton Abbot –
home to an extensive collection of Birds
of Prey from all over the world, set in the
beautiful Devon countryside
an entertaining, educational experience
right on your doorstep – being so close to
these majestic birds is a truly remarkable
experience that you will not forget.
Expect to meet and, if you like, handle
Falcons, Hawks, Owls and Eagles. Enjoy
Michael Bowman (above) had the room
in rapture as he reviewed the valuables
put before him whilst interjecting with
funny and interesting tales accumulated
during his 29 year of operation from his
Chudleigh auction house.

Summer wardrobe inspiration

residents
We have created a cosy and comfortable
‘Quiet Room’ for the sole use of residents
at Lincombe Manor.
Making use of the library, the
room now boasts two comfortable
Chesterfield settees and a television
for peaceful enjoyment of
entertainment. The selection of games
has also been increased.
The aim is to ensure our growing
numbers of residents have choices as to
where and how they can relax in and
around the village.
Table tennis began in the 19th Century
as an after-dinner parlour game for
upper-class Victorians.
Back then, a cigar box lid was used
to hit a rounded Champagne cork
over books on the dining room table,
but it has developed into an exciting,
fast-paced sport with the ball travelling
at speeds of up to 70mph. (We’re not

TOADS Fashion Show
Thursday May 14th 2PM TO 5PM
The Moonstone Theatre Company is
coming to Lincombe Manor to present
a mysterious performance. Tickets are
£15 per person, which includes the
entertainment, afternoon tea and a
Pimms reception.

lunch and/or afternoon cream tea.
