MESSAGE
A RECORD BREAKING YEAR FOR EXAM RESULTS
Once again our Burnage Media Arts College boys have excelled and
produced their best exam results to date. It has taken a lot of effort from
both staff and students and we are proud to announce we have achieved
67% of pupils scored Grades A* - C in English and 60% in Maths.

change for Burnage Media Arts
College students. We have moved

grades of this standard. In 2001, 38 out of a

They are poets... and they know it!
As many of you may know, in March this
year we were pleased to announce that
Burnage Media Arts College had won the
Wordsmith Poetry Awards 2011.
The four pupils who took part in the awards were,
Zaigham Ali Shan, Farhan Ahmed, Abdiqain Ali and
Asim Saeed. The dedicated four, spent weeks in
rehearsals, and had to build up a huge amount of
confidence in order to perform their work in front
of a large audience.
A massive well done again to the pupils involved, and
to those who have supported them along the way!

writing workshops.
This opportunity was due to

and Mark Roberts, and the boys
were given the themes of ‘lies
and rumours’ on which to base
their ten minute plays.

Football
This academic year has been full of sporting successes for Burnage
Media Arts College. The year 11 football team won the south
Manchester league and then played Cedar Mount in the overall final
which they won 3-2 with Lokmane Raked scoring the winner from 25
yards. A great result. The year 11 football (Futsal) team also got
through to represent Greater Manchester in the North West trials.
Our year 11’s got to the semi final of the Manchester cup and the year
