FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE APRIL 29, 2015 Have we Forgotten “Lest we Forget” A Public meeting of ‘Lessons Learned’ STRATFORD: Subsequent to the Avon Maitland District School Board’s final position on the matter of Mr. Rick Boons request for unpaid leave to accompany his father to commemoration ceremonies in the Netherlands this week, a public gathering is scheduled for April 30 at The Stratford City Hall Auditorium (1 Wellington St., Stratford, ON) at 7:30 PM to explore the ‘lessons learned’ from this community event. The conversation will be held in panel‐format with an opportunity for the public to participate and will be moderated by Canadian writer, journalist, professor and broadcaster Ted Barris. Panel Invitees will include; trustees of the Avon Maitland District School Board, Mr. Art Boon, Loreena McKennitt and others. The purpose of this meeting is to explore the many issues which have arisen over the past month surrounding the board’s decision and examining the ‘lessons learned’.
