 ANDY MACK BIO Andy Mack is a native of Longview and a board certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon with a long-­‐standing practice of 25 years in Longview. He served on Longview’s City Council as the representative of District 4 (1997-­‐2005). During his tenure on City Council, Andy worked with three of Longview’s mayors and acted as the liaison on numerous committees on behalf of the City Council. He was also actively involved in the development of The Lear Park Sports Complex, which now annually brings in millions of dollars in revenue to the city. In 2010, Andy was awarded the Longview Chamber of Commerce Tourism Partner of the Year, and most recently, he served as a member of the Vision 2015 Task Force for the City of Longview and is a founding board member of Legacy Longview. Since leaving public office, Andy has focused on his faith, his family, and his patients. He has worked behind-­‐the-­‐scenes to improve the welfare of the Longview community. Andy lives in Longview with his wife, Kelly, of 30 years, along with their three children, Spencer, Madison and Luke. He is a member of First Baptist Church in Longview, where he is a Deacon and Sunday School teacher. Every month, Andy hosts a free clinic in his office to provide oral health and surgical services to residents of the area’s shelters and missions. He has also volunteered his time and efforts to the Wounded Warrior Project , Make-­‐a-­‐Wish , Junior Achievement , and Highway 80 Rescue Mission. He has served as a coach for his children’s baseball, basketball and softball teams and as a past president of Longview High School’s Baseball and Basketball Booster Clubs. Andy graduated from Longview High School, attended Kilgore College and holds degrees from Stephen F. Austin University (B.S. in Biology/Minor in Chemistry; Magna Cum Laude) and Baylor College of Dentistry (Doctorate of Dental Surgery; Scholastic Honors). He completed his surgical residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Andy’s staunch dedication to the city of Longview and its citizens is rooted in the values of service to God and his fellow man that he learned from his father, Dr. Sam Mack, a respected physician, oral surgeon, community leader, and volunteer. Andy is committed to making a difference and is ready to lead the city of Longview as it next mayor. It is his passionate desire to see Longview continue to grow, evolve and thrive, as well as draw young people and new businesses home to Longview. ®
