LIBRARY NEWS:
Beginning next week, we will be ready to begin the California Young Reader's Medal contest or
CYRM. This is a yearly contest that children through out California participate in. Students,
kinder through third grades, will be voting on their favorite title out of five books. I will read one
book per week and at the end of five weeks, the voting will begin. The students love this contest
and are very anxious to learn, when all the votes are tabulated, who the winner is. This year the
contestants are, "Randy Riley's Really Big Hit", by Chris Van Dusen, "City Dog Country Frog", by
Mo Willems, "Exclamation Mark", by Amy Krouse-Rosenthal, "Miss Brooks Loves Books!", by
Barbara Bottner and "Too Tall Houses", by Gianna Marino. It will be an exciting five weeks in the
library. Thank you again to Christine Tarango for donating these titles to our library.
Happy Reading,
Mrs. Roider
