CAMP INFORMATION
All Day Fun – Six Days Each Week – Choose the Week That Fits
Students completing 1st Grade through 11th grade
Acting, Singing, Dancing, Building Confidence, Making New Friends
LOCATION: Summer Performance Camps take place on the Boise State University Campus in the academic wing of the Morrison Center for the Performing Arts.
Student performances take place in the Morrison Center’s Danny Peterson Theatre. Physical address: 2201 Cesar Chavez Lane, 83725-1050
CAMP HOURS EACH WEEK
Mon- Thu – 9:30 am to 4:00 pm
Fri & Sat – 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm
PERFORMANCES EACH WEEK
Fridays - 7:00 pm
Sat - 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm
SCHOLARSHIPS: A limited number of need-based scholarships are available. Please call Events & Marketing Manager, Virginia Treat (see below) for information
and forms.
REFUNDS: Please call if your student cannot participate in their scheduled camp week. All refunds are addressed on a case-by-case basis. If prior to the start of
a scheduled camp week, a $25 processing fee will be deducted from any tuition paid. If camp has already begun, no refund will be processed.
TAX INFORMATION: If you are using camp in place of regular day-care and want credit for your taxes, our tax ID number is 82-0290701.
PERFORMANCE PHOTOS/VIDEOS: Small handheld photography/video devices will be allowed during the performances. No large Ipads or tripods.
Please be considerate of other families and parents around you.
CAMP ACTIVITIES
ALL STUDENTS MUST SIGN IN AND OUT DAILY
PARKING & DROP-OFF/PICK-UP: Parents can drive to the parking lot entrance of the Morrison Center building by entering off University Boulevard at Brady
Street or Earle Street. PLEASE BE PROMPT. WE DO NOT OFFER PRE OR POST CAMP DAYCARE. For longer visits or for performances, convenient, close
parking is available in the Brady Garage ($1.50/hr). Kiosk accepts credit card or cash payments. The Morrison Center or GIFT cannot be responsible for any
parking tickets.
ATTENDANCE, CLOTHING & SHOES: Attendance at rehearsals and performances is mandatory. Students unable to comply with this policy may not be able
to participate in the performances. Please wear comfortable clothing and closed toe shoes. Please leave all electronic devices at home. Cell phones must be
silenced during the camp day.
MONDAY MORNING AUDITIONS: No advance preparation is necessary, but a smile never hurts! Children should be ready to come and have a good time! There
are roles for students of all ages and all roles are important to the production!
DAILY ACTIVITIES: Students are assigned rehearsals and class-work in their appropriate groups and are supervised. Students will experience a mix of theatre
warm-ups, music rehearsals, choreography sessions, technique intensives and stagecraft classes in preparation for their three performances.
EACH DAY - PLEASE BRING THE FOLLOWING:
• Water bottle labeled with student’s full name.
• One sack lunch (no refrigeration available). Due to common allergies to nuts, please avoid sending anything with peanuts to camp.
The lunch break is 30 minutes. Students must stay on campus. Parents are always welcome. Please call to check on the scheduled time.
The Morrison Center and GIFT Staff do not have additional snacks or lunches.
GIFT STUDENT/PARENT CONTRACT (Please read and sign)
Please read this contract with your student. It is important that the student understand what is expected at Summer Performance Camp.
• Students may not bring any accessories, toys or other personal items that may distract from daily activities. Cell phone usage and texting is prohibited during
rehearsals and class sessions.
• Students are expected to be in attendance every day of the session, on time and fully participate in all activities.
• Students are expected to treat all instructors, guest speakers, performers and staff with respect. Disrespectful behavior includes, but is not limited to; calling or
texting on cell phones, late arrival, talking during presentations, swearing, throwing things, not paying attention, or wandering off. If the student’s behavior does not
improve, he or she will be referred to the program director and may be removed from the program.
• Possession of weapons, drugs or alcohol is grounds for immediate dismissal. No warnings will be given.
PARENT RESPONSIBILITIES
• All information contained herein is accurate and correct. I am the parent or legal guardian of the named participant in this program.
• I have read and understand the Policies and Procedures and will abide by all policies.
• I hereby voluntarily assume all risks associated with my student’s participation and agree to discharge and release, GIFT for Youth, the State of Idaho, the Regents
of Boise State University-Morrison Center, their agents, servants and employees from and all liability, claims, causes of action or demands of any kind and nature
whatsoever which may arise by or in connection with my participation in any activities related to this Boise State program.
• I understand that it is my obligation to have a health and accident insurance policy in effect for my (child or ward) while participating in this program.
My student and I have read and understand the above terms. If behavior becomes a problem, my student may be
removed from the program with no refunded fees. (Required)
