Ohio Valley Carriage Club
The Legends Posse
Return with us now to those thrilling days
of yesteryear with the Legends Posse!
The purpose of our Club is to have fun safely
driving our horses and carriages in great
places, and to learn more about the sport and
traditions of carriage driving.
Members host drives throughout the spring, summer
and fall months, which include drives on members’
farms, farms of friends, and some local parks. Members
also participate in the Carriage Roundup, an annual
invitation-only weekend at the Kentucky Horse Park, as
well as The National Drive week, held at the Kentucky
Horse Park. Members participate in the Lebanon Carriage
Parade, Lebanon, Ohio, (the largest horse drawn carriage
parade in the nation) and the Red Bricks and Roses Parade,
Oxford, Ohio, as well as others. OVCC also offers a variety
of clinics from driving skills, turnout and hat creation, and
carriage maintenance, to name a few.
The Ghost of Col Rouzer
Tipp City War Horse. Captain Daniel Rouzer was a
prominent citizen of Tippecanoe and rode his beloved
war horse out to battle and back again. This old soldier
loved his army horse so much he made arrangements
for it to be buried at the corner of his property at 4th
and Main in a 15’ square plot which was to never be
built over. Col Rouzer was so well loved by the City that
they affectionately granted him the title “Colonel.”
