About MCET:
In the year 1998, Nachimuthu Industrial Association
(NIA) started Dr. Mahalingam College of
Engineering and Technology (MCET) with a mission
to impart high quality competency based education in
Engineering and Technology. MCET is an
autonomous,
self-financing,
co-educational
Engineering College, affiliated to Anna University,
Chennai. The institute has been accredited by the
National Board of Accreditation (NBA), NAAC with
‘A’ Grade and ISO 9001:2000 certified by TUV. The

About Department:
The department of Automobile Engineering was
established in the year 2007. At present the
department offers four years Bachelor of Engineering
with annual intake of 120 students. It offers an
outstanding opportunity for the students to excel in
the field of automotive technology with well
qualified and dedicated faculty. The department has
tied up with TUV Rheinland India, and established a
Centre for advanced training to provide skills in
automotive technology. This Centre is affiliated by
Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC), a
council approved by the Government and funded by
National Skill Development Corporation and
Ministry of Heavy Industry.

