Music participants receive more academic honors and awards than non-­‐
music students. National Center for Education Statistics, 1990 High school music students score higher on the SAT in both verbal and math than their peers. The College Board, Profile on College-­‐Bound Seniors National Report for 2006 A national study of undergraduate majors of medical school applicants found that sixty-­‐six percent of music majors who applied to medical school were admitted, the highest percentage of any group. Forty-­‐four percent of biochemistry majors were admitted. workers for the 21 century.
