Appendix 1 to the NORinformation for the RS400 Open Event
Saturday & Sunday, 16th & 17th May 2015
The event will be run as per
UK RS Classes Associations GENERAL NOTICE OF RACE 2015
Timings:
Saturday, 16th May - Briefing - 11.00 hrs in the vicinity of the Race
Office.
1st Race – no earlier than 12.00 hrs
Times of further races will be displayed at the Race Office and may
be held back to back.
Entries:
The safety of the boat and her entire management, including insurance, shall be the sole
responsibility of the owner or helm of the boat. They must ensure that the boat and crew are
adequate to face the conditions which may arise in the course of the race. Neither the Sailing
Instructions nor any inspection of the boat limits or reduces the absolute responsibility of the
owner/helm for the crew, the boat and her management. The race organisers shall not be
responsible for any loss, damage, death or personal injury, howsoever caused, to the
owner/helm or crew as a result of taking part in the race or races. Every owner/helm
warrants the suitability of the boat for the race or races. Each participant should be listed on
an entry form, available on the Wednesday at NCSC, to accompany their entry fee and to
confirm that their craft is insured for third party liability to a minimum of £2 million.
Entry fees:
£25.00 per boat
RS Open Meeting Sailing Instructions are available through the NCSC or RS
Association web-sites. Any amendments to these will be posted on the notice
board adjoining the Race Office no later than 10.30 hrs.
Prizes:
Prizes will be provided to the top 3 boats, plus additional prizes
dependent on entries.

Check, Clean & Dry Procedure for visiting ribs, dinghies & cruisers. In line with various water
authority’s byelaws all visiting boats should comply with the CHECK, CLEAN & DRY
procedure before arriving at the Sailing Club.
Check: Check your equipment and clothing for living organisms. Pay particular
attention to areas that are damp or hard to inspect.
Clean: Clean and wash all equipment, footwear and clothes thoroughly, use hot water
where possible. If you do come across any organisms, leave them at the water body where
you found them. (Cleaning & washing should be done away from Nottinghamshire County
SC when visiting the Club).
Dry: Dry all equipment and clothing – some species can live for many days in moist
conditions. Make sure you don’t transfer water elsewhere.
Launching Trollies/Trailers: should not be left in the water for any longer
than is necessary to launch & recover the boat.
