Special Meeting Notice and Agenda
April 30, 2015
The State Board of Higher Education (SBHE) will meet on Thursday, April 30, 2015, 8 a.m. CDT, on the
Bismarck State College Campus in the National Energy Center of Excellence Building, Bavendick Stateroom,
1200 Schafer Street, Bismarck, ND 58501, to continue with next steps in the Chancellor Search process,
which are interviewing the below-listed semi-finalists, and then determining whether to:
1) identify finalists for an additional interview at a May 14, 2015, SBHE meeting, at which time the
candidate of choice for the Chancellor position will be selected and offered an employment contract;
or
2) proceed with selecting the candidate of choice for the Chancellor position at this time, and offering
an employment contract to the candidate to serve as the next Chancellor.
Members of the Chancellor Search Advisory Team will also be in attendance and will be participating as
appropriate in the interviews and discussions as outlined in the following Agenda. The live video stream can

SBHE and Search Advisory Team to receive reference check report from Search
Consultants Dr. James McCormick and Ms. Janice Fitzgerald
-SBHE deliberations regarding the three interviewed candidates
-SBHE determines which of the following two options to act on, and takes required
action thereon:
1) Whether to invite selected candidates for an additional interview to occur
at May 14, 2015, SBHE meeting, at which time the final selection will be made and
an employment contract will be offered to the candidate of choice, and the terms of
the employment contract will be negotiated with the candidate in the manner
directed by the SBHE;
OR
The North Dakota University System is governed by the State Board of Higher Education and includes:
Bismarck State College • Dakota College at Bottineau • Dickinson State University • Lake Region State College • Mayville State University • Minot State University
North Dakota State College of Science • North Dakota State University • University of North Dakota • Valley City State University • Williston State College
2) Whether to make the final selection at this time, and offer an employment
contract to the candidate of choice at this time, and the terms of the employment
contract will be negotiated with the candidate in the manner directed by the SBHE.
