Hi there whanau!
Sunday Services:
This Sunday, March 15:
We are right in the middle of our journey of lent. From the start we have said
our heart for the season is about making room for God and making room for
others. Donald offered a big challenge to us last Sunday, asking "who do you
not associate with?" Making room for others isn't just about making more time
for those you love, but for those who you don't naturally connect with
too. That's a massive challenge but one that we, as the people of God, are
tasked with. While it is hard, there is something of the beauty of God that
shines when barriers are overcome and unity appears in the midst of division.

This Sunday we will spend more time in John's Gospel looking at Jesus' ministry
as we walk slowly towards Easter. May he open our eyes to see more of the life
he has for us as we journey together as whanau.

P.S. Donald and Janice left on Monday for their trip to Israel with World Vision.
We had this quick email from them yesterday afternoon—
Hope all well with you all, we stopped over in Korea, just had breakfast then
quick walk outside, it's minus 4 degrees and all water fountains are frozen!
Leave for Israel shortly.
Please continue to pray for their safety and the success of their trip as they
journey to and through this region in conflict.

Early-bird registrations close at

today!!
Eastercamp is a massive Christian
youth camp held just out of
Christchurch over the Easter holiday
weekend. Its you + your mates (if
you're high school aged!), oh and
4,500 others from around the
country; all ready to have the best
days of their lives!
The cost of camp is crazy-good
value for what it includes - but can
still be a struggle for some of our
young people to find. Thank you to
those of you who have donated
already, but if anyone else would
like to sponsor one of our young
people (or a leader!) to attend
camp, please talk to Rachael Prior.
It would be very much appreciated!
Click here to register online. Our
group is called Frontline - Northcity
Church Youth.

March, Northgate is

event so successfully
held in Morrison Ave
last year.
This is a great opportunity to get connected with our local community, is a lot of fun
and is very much appreciated by those who turn up. However, quite a few volunteers
are needed to make it a success. If you have any time on Saturday March 28 between
10am and 2pm, please sign up on the whiteboard in the foyer or talk to Karen Watson
or Karla Guerin about how you can help.
Nice One Zion
We are so proud of our Zion performance crew that we wanted to share with you this
email received from the Mainland Tactix after Zion performed at their opening home
match last week:
I just wanted to congratulate you, Sarah and your dancers for an amazing
performance on Monday night. You are all very professional and it was a great
performance. The group is very talented. We have had great response and positive
feedback and how great you all were! I look forward to the rest of the season.
Don’t forget to
check our Zion crew
out at the netball—
if not in person
then on Sky Sport.
The next game is
this Monday
night—March 16 at
7:40pm.
Thanks from

An Invitation from OMF
You are warmly invited to celebrate OMF’s 150th birthday on 18th April 2015
at Christchurch Chinese Church in Greers Road.
In 1865 Hudson Taylor founded the CIM with a prayer on Brighton Beach, as he
saw the urgent need to reach Chinese in the interiors of China. God heard his
prayer and one year later 24 people sailed for China. 150 years later God has
widened the focus to South East Asians, where ever they are.
We have much to be thankful for. Come and join us as we celebrate 150 years
of God’s faithfulness and bring along anyone you know might be interested.
Please feel free to circulate this invitation to your family and friends.
To register contact Ginette via email at [email protected] by April 10.

On Easter Sunday - Sunday 5 April – there will be a 45min dawn worship service held in Cathedral Square. This will feature a
large choir to sing Handel's famous Hallelujah Chorus. There will also be a number of hymns, which the choir is encouraged
to support, although we will spend most of our time preparing the Hallelujah Chorus.
Christians from all over Canterbury are invited to be a part of the choir which is being organised by the Shekinah Trust and
will be directed by Tim Bell.
Both beginners and experienced singers are very welcome!
You can register to be a part of this event and receive updates by filling in the online form—click here

sung at this webpage as well.
