students to pre book and commit to the full course. These courses are both progressive and designed to involve both practical and investigating

The course is an intensive practical and academic course that runs across two blocks of one week offshoots
permaculture site in Burnley. The weeks are divided into a part one section ,- June , followed by a further
week in July .This is in order for the students to engage in the practical opportunity of their own permaculture designs and bring them forward to work on in the second week. There will be some visits outside of
the site which a small payment maybe required plus if you wish to purchase a certificate from the Permaculture Association this can be done via the tutor for an additional cost .This course is open to all levels and
no previous experience necessary. This course is also the pre course towards the Permaculture Assc diploma.
Each part can be taken separately however it is advised that in order to go onto the part one you must
of competed the part one ,

Introduction to forest gardening - winter - C3836728

This course will explore contrasting Woodland environments, tree identification and
classification, the history of Forest Gardens and Permaculture. students will get the opportunity to make a
simple permaculture design on the forest garden at offshoots permaculture project and help in developing
this area, utilizing different propagation techniques, tree pruning,
thinning, and exploring the concepts of building soil, layering and zones. students will also get to take home
propagated trees/shrubs.

Beginners Organic Food Growing Course - A practical course for you to learn how to grow food on allotments, in gardens and containers the organic way, good for you, good for wildlife!

Over 2 days learn to weave and make your own basket using a variety of weaving techniques.
Experiment with different Willows and Weaves, Learn about its preparation and care and the
history of this extremely versatile tree. Look at different materials found locally that can be used
in weaving. Students will need to commit to the two days as the processes will need time to fully
develop.

Pre-enrolment is essential for the weekend courses.
These classes are run by professional contemporary artists and crafts people. The classes are open to beginners or those who wish to extend and challenge
themselves. To keep the cost down basic materials are supplied though students are encouraged to bring their own materials along to use and share. Some
classes may have materials to purchase for more ambitious projects.

The basic cyanotype recipe has not changed very much since Sir John Herschel introduced it in 1842. With this class you will explore the process of cyanotype photographic
transfer onto textiles or paper. Using this as a base you will further explore other processes that will allow you to create a piece of art /craft that can be further developed .

different techniques of weaving,
preparation of willow for weaving, varieties of willow available and other weavable materials. In all aspects

and will be supported in their experimentation.
