2015-2016 Program - Oshawa Little Theatre
Oshawa Little Theatre 2015-‐16 Youth Group Education Program Program Description (ages 10-17)
The Youth Group Education Program invites participants aged 10- 17 (at time of
audition) to explore the many riches of theatre development and performance at the
Oshawa Little Theatre.
This program gives participants the opportunity to develop foundational skills in theatre
by engaging in a variety of drama and musical theatre workshops run by experienced
professionals. Participants are guided to develop confidence in performance, challenged
to consider character development and physicality, and encouraged to achieve personal
goals in the contexts of: acting/ stagecraft, creative risk-taking, singing and voice
instruction, dance and choreography training, and ensemble co-operation and
teambuilding.
Participants will also be exposed to technical and “behind the scenes” elements which are
vital to the success of any performance in theatre. These workshop areas might include:
costuming, hair and makeup design, property creation, set design, and lighting and
sound operation.
The Youth Group Education Program runs: each Saturday from 9:00am – 12:00pm,
September to December. From January to the March Break, the Program runs each
Saturday from 9:00am – 1:00pm. From the March Break to the beginning of April, the
