YÜÉÅ à{x ctáàÉÜË á Wxá~
Dear Friends:
A
s I have often noted in my weekly column, the Pastoral Council is an extremely important group in our parish. Their advice and counsel is necessary for me and our parish staff
in making important decisions. This past Monday the Council met to discern the four new
members to the Council. The new members are Clayton Bruckert, John O’Rourke, Rosa
Dolce Sanscrainte and Joseph Shields. I congratulate all of them and welcome them to this
great group. Our new President is Henry Zalak. At the same time I wish to thank the following Council members who have completed their three year term: Marianne Cerillo, Dominic Chiodi, Chris Quinn and Jacqueline Trela. I sincerely thank them for there service and
dedication to our parish. A special ‘thank you’ goes to Jacqueline Trela for her great leadership as our Council President these last two years. God bless you all!
Yours in Christ,
Very Rev. Michael A. Carrano

SPECIAL THANK YOU
Many thanks to all our parishioners who completed
the Liturgy Assessment tool. There are many responses and during the summer we will put all the
responses together. When that is completed we
will issue a summary report. As you may know
this was the first of FOUR ASSESSMENT
TOOLS. The second will be issued in the fall.
.
We want to congratulate Valentina Accardo, a
Sunday School student, who was chosen to be Valedictorian of her graduating class at P.S./I.S. 87.
We are very proud of your accomplishment!
GRIEVING THE LOSS OF A SPOUSE
A bereavement and support group for widows and
widowers will meet on June 16th at 1:30 PM in the
rectory. For information call 718-779-4605.
YOUTH MINISTRY NEWS!
Our Lady of Hope parish wishes to thank all who
supported the trip, of our Youth Group, to the
Whitestone Nursing Home where the young people spent quality time with the poor and the elderly
listening to their wonderful stories. The youth are
doing a great job. The group from the Nursing
Home wants to collaborate with our youth group.
They have extended an invitation to the teens for a
BBQ, soccer tournament and water games which
will be held on Saturday, June 27 from 6:20 10:00 P.M. All our 7th and 8th Graders are invited. We are looking for volunteers who will assist
in transporting us from Our Lady of Hope to Holy
Trinity Parish in Whitestone. If you are interested,
Please call the Father Cesar at the rectory or email [email protected]
DONATIONS TO YOUTH MINISTRY
The students of our Youth Ministry Program plan
to visit the nursing home, so that we can spend
quality time with our seniors. There are many people there who don’t have family and spend most of
the time alone and depressed. As part of our visit,
we plan to play some games with them. We would
like to ask for your generosity in providing us
with some board games such as monopoly, chess,
scrabble, etc. These items can be dropped off after
the masses next weekend to the main sacristy or
during the week to the Rectory. Thank you for
your generosity.

of anything” Bl. Pier ~ Giorgio Frassati
