SPELLING BEE
This is something new on the Ovie calendar. It will take place on 19 May and
will be an annual event. The closing date for the entries is on 8 May and the
entry fee amounts to R20. Fees are payable at the general office. Learners
may enter for the Afrikaans or English sections. Entrance for supporters
amount to R10. Further information is available at the language teachers.

WINTER UNIFORM
Winter uniform is optional from 1 May and compulsory from 18 May. Please
ensure that your child dresses neatly according to the rules.

This event will take place on Saturday 9 May at 18:30 in the Vrye Gereformeerde Kerk Rietfontein.

PRETORIA ARTS FESTIVAL
Entries can be submitted form 28 April to 14 May. Entry forms and information
regarding entry fees are available at Dr M. Le Roux (Vocal / Singing, Fine Arts,
Creative Writing and Recitation / Theatre) and Mrs J. Ferreira (Instrumental).
Entry fees are payable at the general office and all entry forms should be
accompanied by proof of payment. No entries will be accepted after 14 May.

NOORDERKRUIN ARTS FESTIVAL
Entries can be submitted from 28 April to 14 May. Entry forms and information

CROSS-COUNTRY
Congratulations to the cross-country athletes who participated at the Wally
Hayward road race at Hoërskool Overkruin this past Saturday 1 May. There
were about 3000 participants. Ovies participated in the 10kn and 9 Ovies
completed the 5km successfully. Congratulations.
The cross-country athletes will participated in the first AGN league at TUT on
Saturday 9 May.
CLOTHES: Ovie wear or Overkruin athletics clothes
TRANSPORT: Own transport or school busses. The busses will depart at
12:30 from the school and will be back at school by 16:00.

Werner Henken (Gr.10) participated at the SA life-saving championship in
Durban this week. He obtained a third place in the individual items and 2 first
places in the relay items.
