About The Race
The Chicago Area Mountain Bikers (CAMBr) are proud to announce the 9th annual Palos Meltdown Cross Country Mountain
Bike Race on August 9, 2015. The race and expo area will be run at the Palos Forest Preserve of Cook County, in Willow
Springs, Illinois—approximately a 30 minute drive from downtown Chicago. The Meltdown has grown increasingly popular
since its inaugural year in 2007. We expect that 2015 will be our biggest year yet as we prepare for a racer count between
700 to 1000 riders, depending on the weather.
Local, regional and national businesses have been Meltdown Sponsors. They capitalized on exposing their
brand and products to over a thousand cycling and active outdoor lifestyle enthusiasts gathered at one event. Sponsorship
does not start and stop on race day. Additional web marketing, logo placement, race t-shirts and swag will carry your
message long after the finish of the race. Cyclists are known to have strong brand awareness and loyalty. Our
sponsors know this, and have used the Meltdown as a part of their yearly marketing campaigns.
The Meltdown is CAMBr’s primary fundraiser and your sponsorship will not only support the race itself, you will also be
supporting CAMBr’s trail-building & advocacy efforts.
CAMBr is a volunteer organization of outdoor enthusiasts who build and maintain off-road, single-track, dirt trails in the
Chicago area for public use. The trails we manage are used by mountain bikers, off-road cyclists, hikers, runners, skiers,
equestrians and nature enthusiasts. CAMBr promotes environmentally and socially responsible trail use, and cooperation
among trail users, land managers, governments, and conservationists.
For 2015 we have also teamed up closely with the Cook County Forest Preserve District and with their support we can make
this event better than ever.
Review the available Sponsorship Level options on the next page, and select a sponsorship level that meets your
needs. Sponsorship may be in cash or in-kind materials upon approval on a $2/$1 exchange. We encourage you to seize this
opportunity to become part of one of Chicago’s premier cycling and outdoor events!
If wish to sign up for sponsorship or have any questions, please email: [email protected].
We thank you in advance for your support!
Sincerely,
CAMBr Meltdown Committee
