Online Applications are invited for the posts of Assistant Professor in the following subjects
in the Pay Band – III of Rs. 15600 – 39100 with Academic Grade Pay Rs. 6000/- plus usual
allowances as admissible under the rules of University of Delhi from time to time.

PwD Reservations:
 One post in the Department of Commerce is reserved for PwD in VH Category.
 One post in the Department of English is reserved for PwD in VH Category.

Application Fee:
 The application fee is Rs. 250/- for General/OBC applicants and Rs. 100/- for SC/
ST/PwD applicants.
 This is payable in form of a Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Principal,
P.G.D.A.V. College, Delhi.
 The fee is non-refundable.
 No application will be considered unless accompanied with a valid Demand Draft.
Essential Qualifications:
1. The eligibility criteria and qualifications are as per the University of Delhi/ University
Grants Commission norms.
2. Candidates applying for the post of Assistant Professor in Economics in the
Department of Commerce must have their Master’s Degree in Economics or Business
Economics only.
3. Good academic record with at least 55% marks (50% for candidates belonging to
SC/ST/Persons with Disability viz. Physically and Visually disabled or those who
passed their Master’s Degree prior to 19.09.1991 and hold a Ph.D. Degree) or an
equivalent grade of B in the 7 point scale with letter grades O, A, B, C, D, E & F at
the Master’s Degree level in the relevant subject from an Indian University or an
equivalent degree from a Foreign University.
4. Candidates must have qualified the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the
UGC/CSIR or a similar test accredited by the UGC (state level eligibility testSLET/SET).
5. Candidates who are or have been awarded Ph.D. degree in compliance of the
University Grants Commission (Minimum standards and procedure for awards of
M.Phil./Ph.D. degree), Regulations, 2009 shall be exempted from the requirement of
the minimum eligibility conditions of NET/SLET/SET.
6. NET shall not be required for such Master’s Degree Programmes in disciplines for
which NET/SLET/SET accredited test is not conducted.
General Note:
1. The candidates applying under PwD category may specifically mention in application
their main category to which they belong i.e. UR/SC/ST/OBC for the purpose of
computing the reservation.
2. The candidates applying under PwD category are required to submit the Disability
Certificate in the format prescribed by Government of India, Department of Personnel
and Training vide OM No. 36035/3/2004-Estt (Res) dated 29.12.2005. The format is
available at the website www.persmin.nic.in
3. Applicants are required to fill online the Application Form available on the college
website.
4. The candidates already in service must apply through proper channel.
5. Separate application must be submitted for each post.
6. The college reserves the right to change the number and nature of posts.
7. The college reserves its right not to fill any or all the post(s) advertised.
8. The duly completed Online Application Form has to be printed, signed and submitted
along with the Demand Draft of requisite amount, latest photograph and self-attested
copies of all required/supporting documents to the college office during working
hours or sent through Speed Post/Registered Post to: The Principal, P.G.D.A.V.
College, (University of Delhi), Nehru Nagar, Ring Road, New Delhi – 110065.
9. No application shall be entertained through E-mail/Fax.

10. The last date for filling up online application form is within 21 days from the date of
publication of this advertisement. The hard copy of the application, complete in all
respects, must reach PGDAV College office by Monday, 27th April, 2015.
11. The applications received shall be screened in accordance with the guidelines laid
down by the University.
12. Merely fulfilling the minimum eligibility conditions does not entitle the candidates to
be called for interview.
13. The college shall not be responsible for any delay/loss due to postal or technical
reasons.
14. Any corrigendum, addendum etc. will be posted on website only.
