"Quality is doing the right thing when no one is looking." Henry Ford
Supply chain Integrity depends on individual accountability resulting in quality products that complies at
every point with regulatory requirement in order to ensure patient safety.
With so many individuals working across the supply chain, it is not possible to oversee everyone and
check 100 percent each point.
We realize that quality is the key to making everything work and we know that this mind set has to be
instilled into everyone involved in this process.
Everyone must feel ownership and overall accountability to meet GMP, GDP & GSP and hence patient
safety goals and objectives.
Merck African Supply Chain Forum , a new initiative of Merck Capacity Advancement Program aiming
for improving Supply Chain Integrity in Africa and developing countries in order to create a culture where
people understand and respect their significance to the overall objectives of Improving Supply Chain
integrity and hence Patient Safety.
In any Health care system and pharmaceutical industry good distribution is a case of ensuring that the
entire supply chain and distribution network is focused on supplying a Quality product that complies at
every point with regulatory requirements and is fit for use when it reaches the patient. Any failings
within the pharmaceutical products’ supply chain can seriously compromise the Quality of the product
and hence Patient Safety.
The implementation of GDP and GSP is essential for keeping counterfeits out of the legitimate supply
chain/distribution network, and lapses in GDP & GSP can leave any Country’s healthcare and economy
sectors vulnerable to counterfeit
