1. Eligibility: The MGM Recipe Showdown (“CONTEST”) is open to Meeting Planners,
Travel Professionals and Leisure Partners who are legal residents of either the U.S.,
Vancouver, British Columbia or Toronto, Canada and are 21 years of age or older at time of
entry (“Entrant(s)”). Employees and immediate family members of, MGM Resorts
International Corporate Hotel Sales ("Sponsor"), the CONTEST Administrator, or its
affiliated or subsidiary companies or any other organizations affiliated with the sponsorship,
fulfillment, administration, prize support, advertisement or promotion and/or their respective
agents, affiliates subsidiaries, and members of their immediate families or persons residing
at the same address are not are not eligible to participate. This CONTEST is governed by
laws of the State of Nevada, without regard to choice of law or conflict of law principles.
Void where prohibited by law.
2. How To Enter: The CONTEST consists of three phases and begins on May 12, 2015: (1)
Recipe Submission; (2) City Recipe Showdown Cook-off(s) and (3) Final Recipe
Showdown Cook-off.
To enter visit http://plugyourbrand.com/mgmresortsinternational/recipe-showdown/ and follow the
instructions. All Entries must include your full name, address, city, state, zip, telephone number and
email address (if you have one). If entries do not contain all necessary information, entrant will be
disqualified. Please be certain to follow all directions.
The City Recipe Showdown Cook-offs will be held in the sixteen cities listed below. Internet access is
required to enter the CONTEST. You may submit as many original recipes in as many preliminary
CONTESTS as you wish, however each entry must be for a separate unique recipe. If any duplicates
are received, only the earliest entry will be considered and an Entrant may win only once.
Three (3) preliminary winners will be selected from among all the entries for each respective city.
Selections shall be made based upon the judging criteria described in Section 3 below. The three (3)
preliminary winners per each participating city will be invited to participate in a cook-off to be held at
the locations on the date and at the times listed below. Each preliminary winner will be notified at
least seven (7) days prior to the respective City Showdown Cook-off CONTEST Date. Each
preliminary winner will be solely and entirely responsible for any travel and lodging costs related to
participating in any city Showdown Cook-off(s). All ingredients and supplies will be provided by
Sponsor. By submitting an entry, each Entrant: 1) irrevocably grants to Sponsor a royalty-free nonexclusive license throughout the world to use, reuse, copy, publish, republish in whole or in part, edit,
add to, modify, and rearrange the entry in whatever media, including without limitation, for use in the
CONTEST and/or Sponsors services and offerings, without further permission, consideration or
payment to the Entrant, except where prohibited; 2) warrants and represents that the Entry is entirely
the original creation/work of the Entrant, and that use of the Entry as described herein will not violate
any law or infringe upon the rights, title, claim or interest of any third party; and 3) certify that the
Entrant is the sole creator of the recipe.
Winners may be required to execute a Statement of Eligibility and Release and Payment
Authorization within three (3) days of prize notification attempt or Winner will be disqualified and prize
may be awarded to an alternate winner. Return of prize or prize notification as undeliverable will
result in disqualification and an alternate winner may be selected. Entry and/or acceptance of prize(s)
constitutes permission for the Sponsors and their agencies (if any) to use the winner's name, address
(city and state) and/or likeness for advertising and trade purposes without further compensation or
authorization, worldwide and in perpetuity, in any and all forms of media, now known and hereafter
devised, unless prohibited by law.
Your recipe must be in one of the following categories: Entrée, Appetizer or Dessert and include a
photo of the finished dish. The submission phase of the CONTEST begins on May 12, 2015 and
ends the respective entry deadline dates listed in the table below (the " Entry Deadline Date"). All
entries must be received by 11:59 pm (Pacific Time) on the respective Entry Deadline Date for each
city in order to be eligible to compete in that city.

3. Judging Criteria: The winners of the CONTEST will be determined by judging all the entrants'
submissions based on the follow criteria:



Taste: 40%
o Does this recipe taste wonderful with every bite? Does it have mass appeal? Would you
want to make this recipe over and over based on the great taste?
Presentation/Visual Appeal: 40%
o Does this recipe present beautifully on the plate or in the baking dish? Do your eyes
make you want to eat this before you can smell or taste it?
Inspirations/Creativity/Uniqueness: 20%
o Is the recipe an original idea? Is the recipe reflective of unique twists to ingredient
usage? Does it contain interesting, yet delightful, flavor combinations?
All entries will be judged using the criteria stated above. All judging will be accomplished by a panel of
food experts as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Decision of the judges is final and
binding on all matters relating to this CONTEST.
All recipes must be the original work of entrant and not previously published. Recipe must not infringe
the copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity or other intellectual property rights of any person or entity.
All entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be returned. Entrants grants all rights, titles
and interest in the submitted entry permission to Sponsor and grants permission for Sponsor and
Sponsor’s agents, authority to use, in perpetuity, Entrant’s name, picture, voice, performance,
likeness, biographical information, statements, property, Prize information, demonstrations, recording
and/or other appearance or participation in connection with the CONTEST and entry materials, any
and all of which may be altered, changed, modified, edited, used alone, together or with other works,
and/or used in distorted, illusory or composite form, as solely determined by the Sponsor for
advertising, trade and promotional purposes without further compensation, at any time(s), in all media
now known or hereafter discovered worldwide, including without limitation, print, radio and television
broadcasting, cable casting, audio/visual, closed circuit exhibition, and on the Internet, without notice
or review or approval.
4. Winners and Prizes: A total of sixteen (16) Winners (one from each preliminary from each of
the sixteen city Recipe Showdown CONTESTS) will be selected to compete in the Ultimate
Showdown Recipe CONTEST in Las Vegas, Nevada which will be held on October 29, 2015.
There will be one (1) Grand Prize Winner, one (1) 2nd Prize Winner and one (1) 3rd Prize
Winner selected from the Ultimate Showdown Recipe CONTEST in Las Vegas. All prizes are
non-transferrable and cannot be redeemed for cash.
Preliminary CONTEST Prizes: each of the sixteen city Recipe Showdown winners will receive the
following:


Coach round trip domestic airfare (international for Toronto and Vancouver winners) to
McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas for one person from the city in which he/she was
selected as a winner, and a two (2) night stay at the MGM Grand Hotel; hotel transportation to
and from the MGM Grand Hotel. Estimated value of: $1400
MGM logo cutting board; MGM logo spice tube sampler and a crystal award plate with a total
estimated value of $132.45.
Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a similar prize of equal or greater value in the event that the
stated prize cannot be awarded due to circumstances beyond the control of the Sponsor All taxes, if
any, are the winners' responsibility. No substitution of prizes by winners. All costs and expenses not
expressly included are the responsibility of the winners. No cash will be awarded. Sponsor will not be
responsible for any loss, liability or damage arising out of the winners' acceptance or use of the
prize(s). In the event that there are either an insufficient number of eligible recipes submitted in any of
the cities, Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to not award any prizes for that city.
Grand Prize Winner: The sixteen preliminary winners will compete in the Ultimate Recipe Showdown
on October 29, 2015 at MGM Grand Hotel. CONTEST Date subject to change. Three winners will be
selected from among the sixteen finalists, based on the criteria stated above.
One Grand Prize Winner will receive:

Round-trip coach airfare to South Beach Florida for one person (domestic unless winner is
from Toronto or Vancouver); three (3) nights of lodging in (hotel tbd) for one person; two

evening events for one person at South Beach Food and Wine Festival February 25-28, 2016.
Estimated retail value: $5500.
Crystal Decanter
One 2nd Place Winner will receive:




A three (3) night stay at an MGM Resorts destination in Las Vegas for one person;
Airport limousine transfer from and to McCarran International Airport,
Dinner each night for one person. (ARV: $1,000). Subject to availability. Restrictions apply.
Transportation to and from Las Vegas is NOT included and is solely the responsibility of the
2nd place winner.
Prize must be used within one year of winner selection or it will be subject to forfeiture
One 3rd Place Winner will receive:



a two (2) night stay at an MGM Resorts destination in Las Vegas;
Airport limousine transfer from and to McCarran International Airport and dinner each night for
one person (ARV: $700). Subject to availability. Restrictions apply. Transportation to and
from Las Vegas is NOT included and is solely the responsibility of the 3rd place winner.
Prize must be used within one year of winner selection or it will be subject forfeiture
6. Conditions: Sponsor is not liable for any technical malfunctions of any telephone network or lines,
computer internet system, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any email on
account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the internet or at any website, or any
combination thereof, including any injury or damage to participant's or any other person's computer
related to or resulting from participation or downloading/uploading any materials in this CONTEST, or
other technical difficulties or failures or other errors of any kind. Sponsor is not responsible or liable
for any injury or damage to an entrant's or third person's computer and/or its contents, related to or
resulting from CONTEST. Sponsor reserves the right to terminate or modify the CONTEST at any
time for any reason. In such a circumstance, all winners will be selected based on entries received to
date of termination. Sponsor also reserves the right to modify this CONTEST in the event an
insufficient number of entries are received and/or an insufficient number of entries meet the minimum
judging criteria.
In the event that two similar entries are received, only the entry judged to best meet criteria as set by
Sponsor will be included in the final judging. Entrants agree to indemnify Sponsor their affiliated and
subsidiary companies from and against any and all claims and liabilities arising out of or in connection
with this CONTEST. Any dispute regarding submission of online entry will be deemed submitted by
the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at the time of entry. "Authorized
account holder" is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an email address by an internet
access provider, online service provider, or other organizations (e.g. business, educational institute)
that is responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email
address. Sponsor is the official timekeeper for this CONTEST. Sponsor, in its sole discretion,
reserves the right to disqualify any person tampering with the operation of the website or the entry
process.
Release of Liability: Entrant releases and holds harmless Sponsor, its affiliates, parent companies,
subsidiaries, employees, officers, directors, members, shareholders, agents, representatives,
distributors, advertising and promotions agencies, sponsors and their respective officers, directors,
members, shareholders, employees, representatives and agents from and against and all liability
(including, but not limited to claims of infringement of copyright or other intellectual property) or any
injuries, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with this CONTEST or any prize
won. Any disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or connected in any way with this
CONTEST or any prizes shall be brought exclusively in state or federal court in Clark County,
Nevada.
