This year the festival will showcase the
unique culture of Polish Highlanders
(Górale in Polish) and the splendor of
the Polish Tatra Mountains, famous
for its rugged peaks, climbing, hiking
and winter sports. One of the biggest
attractions of the region is the
highlander folklore, costumes and
architecture which have continued
through many generations to this day.
All eligible artwork will be published
on the Festival’s Facebook page
facebook.com/PolishFestivalSeattle by
June 30th. The winners will be
selected via public online voting by
July 6th. Votes will be placed by liking
the artwork. The most popular
artwork in each age category wins.
There will also be one grand award
from a panel of judges who will
evaluate all the entries according to
their originality, creativity and overall
impression.
Each child can enter one piece of
artwork based on the template sheet
that can be found at the Festival’s
website. To protect contestant’s
privacy we ask to put only the child’s
first name and age on the front page
of the drawing. All other information
shall be provided on the back.
The original artwork must be submitted by June 30th at the Polish
Cultural Center. The artwork may be
mailed or dropped into a marked box
located on the main floor of the Polish
Cultural Center.
Artwork can be submitted by kids
2–14 years old. There are three
different age categories: 2–5, 6–9
and 10–14.
The goal of the contest is to familiarize children with Poland and Polish
culture. We strongly encourage all
participating kids to research the
Internet and library for inspiration and
information. Contest entries must be
related to the specified theme.
Winners for each age category will be
announced during the Polish Festival
Seattle on July 11, 2015. For more
