♦ In order to access all of the Library Article Databases from your computer at home, you will
have to log in to Blackboard. All students have been registered to log in to Blackboard,
whether or not they are registered for an online course. To access Blackboard from the
Library Home Page at http://www.nicoletcollege.edu/libry/index.html , click on Course
Assistance and then click on the link to Blackboard.

♦ Type in your user name and password. Then click on Login. If you have never used
Blackboard before, both your user name and password are your Nicolet student ID
number. If you decide to change your password, be sure to keep track of what you change
it to.
♦ Your screen may appear somewhat different than this if any of your courses are online
courses or if your instructor has supplementary materials online for you to access. Find
under My Courses the link for library-Off-campus Access to Articles in Journals,
Newspapers, Magazines and click on that.

♦ To access those databases hosted by EbscoHost that are not available through Badgerlink
(paid for by the state of Wisconsin and accessible to everyone living in Wisconsin)—
Academic Search Premier and CINAHL (paid for by Nicolet Library and accessible to all
enrolled students and staff), click on that link. To access databases hosted by Proquest that
are not available through Badgerlink—Proquest Research Core (paid for by Nicolet
Library), click on that link. When you click on the link for EbscoHost, you will have to click
on the EbscoHost Web link again.

♦ When you click on the link to EbscoHost Web, it defaults to the Academic Search Premier
Database. You will need to click on the blue tab that says Choose Databases to see a list
of all available databases, including CINAHL.

♦ When you are finished using one service or host, to get back to the menu items and the
other host, click on Course Map. It will bring up a small window in the upper right portion
of your screen. In that window, click on the link to Expand All. Find and click on the other
host links, in this example, Proquest. Click on the Proquest link from this page. This takes
you to the Proquest Main Databases screen. It accesses all databases together and since
these databases are not nearly as large as the ones in EbscoHost, it is to your advantage to
search all of them simultaneously by clicking on the Continue link.
