MARKET DAY REGULATIONS
PLEASE NOTE: NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN UNLESS MARKET DAY IS CANCELED BY THE
RECREATION DEPARTMENT.
ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE: You may arrive anytime after 5:00am but no later than 7:00am. You must be set-up
with your car OFF the show area by 7:45am. You may bring your car back onto the show area after 4pm.
NOTE: The selling of ivory products and merchandise from any endangered species is not allowed.
COUNTERFEIT ITEMS OF ANY KIND MAY NOT BE SOLD!
1.
Vendors are responsible for their chosen area. There will be no pre-designated areas. Set-ups are scrambled and on a
first come first serve basis. DO NOT DRIVE ON ANY GRASSY AREA!
2. Selling HANDCRAFTED items is encouraged at Market Day. We will allow NON-HANDCRAFTED (mass
produced) items to be sold for a HIGHER registration fee. The Recreation Department reserves the right to
LIMIT the number of NON-HANDCRAFTED vendors at ANYTIME.
3. All vehicles must be moved off the show area immediately after unloading. If your vehicle leaks oil….please put
something under it while unloading.
4. No alcoholic beverages, drugs, or drug paraphernalia are permitted.
5. No gasoline powered generators.
6. You are responsible for your own set-up, tables, chairs, stands, etc. Make sure they are safe and pleasing to the eye.
Maximum space will be 10 x 10 boarding aisle/sidewalks. You are responsible for the clean-up of your space.
7. Sorry, electricity will not be available or allowed for your display. No open flames such as welding, torches, propane
burners, etc.
8. No cooking is allowed and NO FOODSTUFFS MAY BE SOLD AT ANYTIME!
9. The campus police will be patrolling Market Day and those not complying with the regulations may be asked to leave.
10. Parking will be in Transportation Hub 1 (Lot 30) which is located on the corner of Martin Luther King Blvd. and Canyon
Crest Dr. You will be ticketed if you park without a permit. The Recreation Dept. has no control over parking lots on
this campus!
Parking permits will be available from the gate attendant behind The Rivera Library. You may purchase a
permit before entering campus to unload your vehicle. The cost of a daily parking permit is $6.00.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
PLEASE NOTE: NO TRAM SERVICE WILL BE AVAILABLE THIS MARKET DAY.
FROM THE SHOW AREA TO LOT 30, THE DISTANCE IS APPROXIMATELY ¼ MILE.
Market Day Vendors should park in Lot 30. Parking Lot 30 is located on the corner of Martin Luther King Blvd. & Canyon
Crest Dr. Directly off the MLK exit of the 60 freeway.
You may purchase a daily parking permit from the parking attendant (located at the gates behind the Rivera Library) before
entering campus to unload your vehicle. The cost is $6.00 per permit. The parking attendant is scheduled on Market Day
from 4:30am-6:30am. If you are parked without a permit, you will be ticketed!
Follow the directional signs to the show area once you get to the entrance of campus.
You may drive onto campus directly to the show area (Rivera Library Mall/Lawn).
After unloading your vehicle, follow the directional signs to Lot 30 to park.
You may not come onto campus and set-up the night before Market Day!
DO NOT DRIVE ON ANY GRASSY AREAS.
PRICING STRUCTURE FOR MARKET DAY VENDORS:
WE ACCEPT A LIMITED NUMBER OF NON-HANDCRAFTED ITEMS TO BE
SOLD. VENDORS SELLING MASS PRODUCED ITEMS WILL PAY A
HIGHER PRICE FOR THEIR SPACE, AS MASS-PRODUCED ITEMS CAN BE
SOLD AT A MUCH LOWER PRICE THAN THAT OF HAND-CRAFTED
ITEMS.
RECREATION DEPARTMENT STAFF WILL MAKE A DETERMINATION IF
AN ITEM IS IN QUESTION AND ALL VENDORS MUST ADHERE TO OUR
DECISION REGARDING QUESTIONABLE ITEMS.
FOR THOSE VENDORS SELLING BOTH HANDCRAFTED ITEMS AND NONHANDCRAFTED ITEMS, THE HIGHER PRICE WILL BE CHARGED.
COUNTERFEIT ITEMS OF ANY KIND ARE NOT ALLOWED AND MAY NOT BE SOLD!
HOLD HARMLESS AND WAIVER CLAUSE

Regulations and in consideration for permission to participate in Market Day activities at the UCR campus hereby agree as
follows: to release, discharge, and indemnify the Regents of the University of California, it’s agents and employees, either in
their individual capacities or by reason of their relationship to the Regents, for all loss or damage and waive all claims which
the undersigned, their heirs, personal representatives
or any third parties may have against the Regents or any of the above persons by reason of injury to persons, death, damage
to or loss or destruction of property, or other consequences resulting from the participation of the undersigned in connection
with Market Day activities at the UCR campus.
